When I was about 8, we went to a pancake breakfast for school. I came back and told my Mom and Dad that I ate like 36 pancakes and 20 sausages and 16 glasses of juice. Never to this day have I lived that down when any pancakes come from anywhere.

These were the first senior enlisted I had met on my very first trip over. Sev was a stern man. But I remember him asking me everyday before we left if I was ready and that I was going to be fine and to trust my training. Ill never forget them. But they'll live on.
