If you had to name one NBA journalist in history who…
1. Has been called out for only hiring white male writers
2. Called racist by media outlets and agents
3. Has a clear bias against certain players
4. Said “fuck you” to a rookie
Who’s the 1st journalist that comes to mind?
If you had to name one NBA superstar in history who…
1. Consistently came up short in the playoffs
2. Quit on multiple teams
3. Consistently showed a lack of accountability
4. Got the most coaches/teammates either fired or traded
Who’s the 1st guy that comes to mind?
I remember when Harden scored a dunk, didn’t get it scored and Rockets lost by 2 and the consensus reaction outside of Houston was “lol should’ve just won”
1) This is NOT why Denver lost
2) Crew had a rough night both ways, but ...
3) I'm sorry you absolutely cannot cannot CAN NOT miss this call as an NBA ref. Aside from the ball obviously going down, any time a player reaches behind him like that you know it's 100% a goaltend
One of my favorite stories about my dad is how when he managed a Waffle House in Florida in the early 70s he revolutionized their hashbrowns by throwing random shit on top of it for drunk people and it was so good for business that they started putting the add-ons on the menu
We're familiar w/the Waffle House Index in regards to natural disaster response but I think we can apply something similar w/cfb. Like in any cfb matchup,the team from the state w/more WHs per capita is most likely to win. Take this game for example
Ore: 0 WHs
UGA: A shit ton
🧵: Gonna go ahead and answer all of these if I can and give my input as someone who was a stat checker for the NBA.
JJJ probably gets a hand on the ball here with Zion in an upward motion. These get started as blocks.
I’ve gathered a few (of many) video examples of stats wrongly credited to JJJ:
1. Zion Williamson loses the ball on a drive to the basket and Tyus Jones recovers it. JJJ was credited for blocking Zion’s “layup”.
With the draft 1 week away, I finally put my thoughts to words for the first time in over a year.
My 5500 word and multi-video case for

Excited to announce I’ve accepted a position with
@impactbball
and have moved out west to Las Vegas for the rest of their academy season + pre-draft sessions! Just another step in the journey ❤️
Jabari Smith can't be missing these at the rate he does. Shooting 9/23 on open catch and shoot jumpers and 16/51 on all Catch and Shoot attempts. The Rockets are setting him up with many open looks, they just aren't falling.
Happy to announce I'll be working with
@cleantheglass
this season! Excited to get back into the analytics world and providing in-depth information on the NBA this year. Looking forward to doing some great work!!
Y’all saw a 19 year old drop 20 ppg in the G League on the worst spaced G League team in this decade, after playing 0 basketball above the high school level, and let him fall to the 2nd round.
Sharife Cooper is averaging 30/8 through 5 games with the Cleveland Charge. The Rockets desperately need a PG and Sharife could easily step into that role on day 1. Put him on a team that can give him reps and surround him with + defenders and a few scorers and watch him thrive.
Funny to see NBA fandom be so unified behind Houston being a bad landing spot for Wemby. Idk.. a young team with 2 top 3 picks in the last two years, cap flexibility, a new head coach, plenty of picks moving forward, and a history of elite big men seems pretty nice to me
Leonard Miller dialogue getting crazy. Arguably the best season any GLI player has had yet and people wanna take him in the 20s. One of the most efficient prospects IN THE DRAFT. Was considered a top 20 guy last year out Fort Erie and is borderline top 20 after killing the G?
Happy to announce that I have started a Scouting Consulting group,
@NextUp_BBall
! If you are a collegiate or overseas basketball player, or coach of a team and want to take your game to another level, I would love to get in contact with you!!
@fortheidiots
I’m saying probably because I only see one camera angle, where the stat checkers have 12. So im assuming in one of the other 11 angles, they saw the block
While everyone is talking about Brandon Miller
#2
(lol), just a friendly reminder that along with Scoot Henderson, there's a 6'11" guy averaging 15/8 in the G League and playing better by the game. And he's 19 on draft night.
What a match! The spirit of competition. Two heroic efforts! (And to that Iranian journalist: Bro, we’re not perfect but our worst day in America is better than your best day in Iran.) 🇺🇸 ⚽️
Happy to say I’m moving forward from Impact and onto something new in the pro basketball space! Excited for a fun pre-draft process!!
I AM STILL HELPING WITH RECRUITING‼️
Players looking for help with placement & coaches looking for players, connect & stay in contact!!
My 2023 Big Board. Lots of work went into this, albeit not as much as I anticipated before the season. However, still watched many games per player, with a good amount of intel playing into this as well. Notes in the thread below.
#NBADraft2023
Why are we overthinking Scoot? Dudes a starting PG on almost any team without an all-star PG currently on it (and better than some dudes who will start for being old) and has all the tools to become a star. I do not understand the disconnect
Had the blessing of getting to coach a scrimmage on the In-Season Tournament court in Vegas last night! Thanks to the NBA for the opportunity!! A memory for myself and all our players that will last a lifetime.
Leonard Miller (
@LeonardMi11er
) of
@gleagueignite
has been the forgotten prospect of this class. The 6’10” forward is averaging 15.9 ppg and 8.3 rpg on 64.3% TS. He’s playing as the top option with Scoot Henderson out, and his two-way impact should see him be a top 10 pick.
And if you top it with gravy or chili then REALLY thank my pops because there’s no way that’s an option without him throwing that shit on peoples hashbrowns at 4am
Nah dunk contest scoring terrible. Toppin does a 360 tween with 2 hands and it’s worse than JB jumping over a 5’4” dude sitting down what are we doing here
It’s really upsetting knowing there are other borderline NBA players fighting for their careers nightly overseas and in the G League and NBA teams just go sign this rapist to a contract every season
Toumani Camara (
@toomany_buckets
) of
@DaytonMBB
is one of my favorite sleeper prospects of this class. The 6’8” forward has showed some improved passing and defensive impact this season, and has been the motor of the Flyers so far.
I am excited for a great week and a half of basketball here in Las Vegas this week! I will be available throughout Summer League, and looking to land a role with a team! Would love to connect with anyone who will be out here during that time; please let me know your availability
If Toumani is with the Suns, there’s a real opportunity for a role there. No depth, and your role is simple: set screens and rebound. If you can knock down an open shot, you’ll get even more minutes. A role he can easily thrive in by necessity.
This Sad! U Can See His Pain Former NBA Player And # 1 Draft Pick Greg Oden Who Was Injured Early In His Career Gets Reminded His Dream Job Is Over!⛹🏾♂️😢💔🏀
I was LOUD about Toumani being a first round talent and it’s great to see him playing well. Don’t understand how teams didn’t see value in him, especially considering he played with multiple other players deemed 1st round picks last year. Stood out in every single film watch.
Big board dropping soon. Today feels like Christmas to me and many other scouts.
This year I got the privilege to work with some of this years class first hand, get significantly better Intel than previous years, and even watching the same workouts many team scouts got to
My top 40 guys that I’m significantly higher than consensus on (
@RookieScale
):
Leonard Miller - 7 (22nd)
GG Jackson - 12 (21st)
Sidy Cissoko - 14 (29th)
Jordan Walsh - 21 (50th)
Andre Jackson - 27 (45th)
Coleman Hawkins - 28 (47th)
DaRon Holmes - 29 (44th)
Adem Bona - 30 (46th)
Belgian Forward Toumani Camara (
@toomany_buckets
) of
@DaytonMBB
had a huge night last week in an OT win against Loyola-Chicago. Camara’s 31 points was a career high for him, and he did a great job of attacking the basket and getting his teammates involved.
It’s VERY difficult to live day by day with the low pay in this industry. NBA paid just enough for me to afford living in NYC w/ FAFSA refunds. I won’t even get into my current situation, but definitely a constant battle of whether I can keep doing this or if it’s even worth it.
Breaking into the business of basketball coaching is an expensive endeavor. Entry level jobs can pay between $0-25K and let’s keep it real you gonna need to spend your own money to make it in this business. This thing is skewed towards ppl with financial freedom at a young age.
How Devin Carter is unranked by almost every single major big board is beyond me. Easily a 1RP. Few off-guards who have the shooting, understanding of spacing and finishing that he has and does a great job of attacking off the catch with intent. Rotational player in year 1.
Toumani Camara among 2nd Round Picks this year:
1st in Points
1st in Rebounds
1st in Assists
1st in Steals
1st in Blocks
1st in Win Shares
The Belgian Blocker
While many scouting companies are team facing, I’m looking to help the players. Scouting each of their games, providing a wide range of opinions and reports, as well as analytics, pre-draft prep and more. Excited to get to work with a great group of people and help the

After watching an unreal amount of basketball last year I came into this summer burnt out. Along with shitty interview processes recently, and some other personal stuff it’s been hard to find my love in things lately, basketball included. Last night reIGNITE(🫣)d that for me 🏀❤️
Paolo Banchero is currently averaging 21.8 ppg, 7.7 rpg and 3.6 apg 10% into the season. Only rookies to average 19/7/2 since 2000 are:
Luka Doncic
Joel Embiid
Blake Griffin
Even with a buffer, Paolo is on pace to join elite company. Excited to see if he maintains it.
The stats keeping process at the NBA includes multiple stat checkers and about 12 different camera angles that aren’t open to the public. Home stats crews have a tendency to embellish on things like assists/tip rebounds/etc but blocks are pretty straightforward.
A Reddit user (u/AdMassive6666) has discovered that the Grizzlies home scorekeeper is potentially embellishing Jaren Jackson Jr’s blocks & steals stats 🍿👀
The post has over 20k upvotes on r/nba in just a few hours.
Someone will take it but positions like this are why there are so many barriers to entry in basketball. There are people more than qualified for these positions who can’t afford to take risks like this for them and their families
The number of negative replies to this is amusing. Feel more entitled to get your foot in door in coaching and you’ll just stay outside. Meanwhile, someone will take this position, work like crazy, earn their reputation, and then years later be the college assistant listening to
Scoot Henderson (
@thereal013
) of
@gleagueignite
has been the consensus
#2
pick for the entire season, and showed why once again last week against Fort Wayne. Henderson’s ability to get downhill, set up teammates, and play elite team defense were on full display.
Feel like every year the GLI guys get overlooked and overthought. The bottom line with Leonard is easy. The YOY improvement is beyond impressive. The soft skills that translate to the league are all there. Let’s not overthink this
Yeah honestly don’t think it’s that big of an argument either. Out of all the prospects coming out of Ignite in the last 3 seasons Leonard is:
2nd in PPG (Jalen)
1st in FG%
1st in RPG
2nd in 30 point games (Hardy)
Most double doubles
Scoot was also hurt a good amount this year.
How about when half the country is struggling to make ends meet but the government is funding a genocide across the world? Does that make sense to you? Or how about half the countries politicians calling a war on Israel a war on America? Does that make sense?
Have a good amount of stuff coming out for
@SwishTheory
over the next few months so here's a thread with all my stuff so far that I'll be updating as the season goes on:
Really excited to work with Mike this season! Was a big fan of him in HS and at Dayton, and has improved greatly this year. Should be on a lot of draft boards as conference play picks up 📈
By way of Mongolia, we are pleased to announce we will be working with former Dayton Flyer and current USF Don, Mike Sharavjamts, on his development and the pre-draft process! The HS 4⭐️ is the 1st Mongolian looks to be the 1st Mongolian drafted in the NBA at the 2024 NBA Draft!!
This is horrible media training if the dude doesn’t wanna talk stop pressing him. I also don’t know how you post this video and hear how y’all are talking to him and don’t realize how condescending and rude you are. Do better. And ESPN, hire better people.
Bucs running back Giovani Bernard didn’t want to talk to the media about what happened on the botched fake punt. Here’s that interaction.
Note: As reporters, it is our job to seek clarity on what happened, especially on the most pivotal play of a game.
Could write a think piece on what I think went wrong here over the last 3 years, but larger point will be what the G League does a whole now. Hasn’t proven to be the development league for young prospects that the NBA would like, could see some larger scale reform happening.
Sources: The NBA is shutting down the G League Ignite team after this season, canceling the development squad of elite draft prospects and veterans that launched in 2020.

The World Cup starts in a month and I haven’t seen a single ad for it yet. FIFA putting all their money into making sure they don’t create another humanitarian crisis and none into marketing.
Love JG and still have hope in him being an impactful player in the league for a while but man it is not gonna happen on this Houston team. He should be happy for a change and the Rockets should cash in and try and get a 2 who can play today
Last season I got the opportunity to work remotely for team Ignite, and since they’ve been an organization I’ve been very passionate about. It was great to sit and talk to a few of the teams coaches to get a better understanding of what their goals are and what their process is!
Jamal Shead is the No. 1 player on a Houston Cougars team ranked No. 1 in college basketball, and a surefire All-American. We've seen other undersized guards like Jose Alvarado and Jevon Carter carve out roles in the NBA by bringing nonstop intensity and toughness.
🧵: Alabama Forward Brandon Miller (
@brandmillerr
) put on a show this week against Vanderbilt, scoring 30 for the 3rd game this season and the 2nd in his last two games. Miller has seen himself become a consensus lotto pick this season, with many having him in the top 6.
Freshman Forward Taylor Hendricks (
@tayxhendricks
) of
@UCF_MBB
has had one of the better Freshman campaigns so far this season. His abilities to stretch the floor and be a lockdown defender at any point of the court should help any NBA team, and see him rise up boards quickly.
Mouhamed Gueye (
@rassoul_gueye
) of
@WSUCougarMBB
has been a riser in this draft class and put on a huge performance against Arizona earlier this month. His fluidity on both ends and soft touch make for the ideal big man in the modern NBA.
Super excited to be part of something awesome in
@SwishTheory
!! Ready to do draft and NBA related content throughout the season with some of the best people out there. Start with our Scoot Henderson scouting report!
In a way you’d think having Scoot Henderson would have people watching GLI games but I think the consistent disregard of clear first round talents like Sidy and Leonard by major media shows that people are still not paying attention to what’s being done down there
It’s actually incredible to me how many people failed to recognize the context Jaden Hardy was in last season and how it effected his play. Drop him on ANY NCAA Team last year and he’s consensus T10. GLI was a huge (dysfunctional) leap, but it’ll pay off for him down the road.
Guys I think are gonna rise up draft boards a lot this season (Current ESPN ranking):
Mojave King (57)
KJ Simpson (NR)
Kellen Amos (NR)
Taylor Hendricks (NR)
Jacob Toppin (74)
Mike Sharavjamts (NR)
Trevon Brasile (92)
Jamal Shead (NR)
Dayton’s Toumani Camara has officially declared for the NBA Draft. Following a strong performance at PIT Basketball Combine.
Averaged 13.9PPG and 8.6REB at Dayton. Started his college career at UGA.

@Sydneysmithhhh
🧵: Freshman Guard Keyonte George (
@keyonte1george
) of
@BaylorMBB
is one of the best shot making prospects in the 2023 Draft class. His combination of quickness, strength and touch make him one of the most dynamic guard prospects in the class.
Arkansas wing Anthony Black (
@AnthonyBlack24_
) has arguably been the best freshman in the class, leading a depleted Arkansas team. He did just that in the Razorbacks’ win against Ole Miss on January 21st, leading the team in scoring & assists while being a game-changing defender.
