sonic unleashed has the absolute best sonic story thematically. i can't think of a better concept as taking sonic on an endless world adventure with a personification of the earth itself, amazing time.

imo if they ruin shadows story in sonic movie 3 in any way it'll basically make this movie a complete waste imo. shadow is not like the other sonic characters, he is very much more thematically and tonally complex and they NEED to present it well, they can't get it wrong.

Sonic is blue like the sky and water, a torso like the sun, fast and free like the wind, an untamable force. Wind is air, and the water and sun are vital in sustaining life. Sonic is like nature, maybe even sonics travels can be associated with the cycle of life perhaps.

this is the only modern sonic game that i feel captures the essence of the sonic series so well. i know the script or the story ain't peoples cup of tea, but every other idea is executed upon extremely well with amazing art direction and even reusing ideas from sonic 1. awesome!!

this video highlights my issue with the open zone. it's such a passive experience imo, nothing in this game's open world is engaging imo. it's just very very boring, i loved it the first playthrough but nowadays i can't muster any motivation to boot up the main game anymore
i was kinda scared all my feelings about frontiers wouldnt hold up on replay but like. i'm so glad i couldn't have been more wrong. just running around this game is so fun... it's so comfy. have a few mods on but they're literally all cosmetic/sound related
