Got 1st in Long Beach & 2nd at an LA cup this weekend playing DON! Prizing was busted and the deck is nuts when it's firing. Went a collective 11-3-1 over the weekend, matchups below
6-3 @ EUIC, didn't put as much time into prep as I would've liked to, spent a lot of time trying to 👨🍳 but at the end of the day consistency is king 🇬🇧
It was bound to happen eventually, but I've just had my flight cancelled for the first time. I wish everyone good luck in Portland, I'll be watching! 🫡 Also, here's my list I was going to play. ✌️
Yu-Gi-Oh was my first TCG. I never could afford the best cards and decks at the time. Switching over to Pokemon allowed me to play at the highest level with no restrictions out of the gate. I love that I rarely have to think of price when it comes to building a new deck
I just got CLAPPED in the LateNight EU event by this gigachad who t1 starts Jirachi attaches their 1 DTE & kills my Lugia, into t2 doing it AGAIN to my second one 😂
This is my current season. A season full of trolling and misplays🤣 If I find 11 more CP to qualify, do I deserve a chance to compete for the World Champion title?
Won a cup today playing MEW! what's even crazier is that 5 years ago today, I won my first cup! Honestly didn't even feel like today was up to me but grateful to still get the dub 🙏
BREAKING: Alaska Airlines plane makes emergency landing in Portland, Oregon after window blows out in mid-air.
Several items, including phones, were sucked out of the plane when it suddenly depressurized. Everyone is safe.
If anyone is getting to LA Regionals early,
@NextGenGamesLA
will be hosting a league cup Friday! They're just a 15min drive from the venue. I'll link pre-reg below if interested.
Just checked into Knoxville! Grateful to have gotten in on one of the last waves of registration. This will be the first regional of the year for me. No matter what happens, I'm blessed to be playing this weekend
Ended up 22nd in Fresno, I decided to pivot off Gardevoir a few nights before the tournament & decided on a risky play. I don't want any credit, I ripped this list off of a limitless online tourney. So shout-out to whoever made this✌️see y'all in OHIO
So many decks AND variants this format to try and test versus.. am I missing any?👀If NAIC was tomorrow, what would you sleeve up? I think I would go with Garde
shoutout
@training_court
, never been crazy about online play, but this has made it so easy to keep track of matchups. I also took everyone's advice & started playing the ladder this weekend, & I think I enjoy it more than online tournaments lol
2/155 in the
@LostZoneKitchen
showdown. I had a close set in the finals, but I couldn't close out. This list isn't perfect but was a good start for me trying to test out arven shenanigans. If anyone wants to talk or prep LAIC this weekend, hmu 🥳
Question for my TCG folks, when you guys are planning for a regional how often do you playtest? Is it mostly online or irl? Do you guys play a ton the night before? I wanna see other players routines 👀
Lost the finals of a league cup Kyogre mirror to
@NginTCG
, made a crucial mistake in game 3, but we learn from that. This +40 means I'm at 367/350, So I'm locked in for Japan! 🇯🇵➡️✈️✅ List was from
@Ian__Robb
's latest article, -1 horn+ Klara.
6-3 @ Vancouver for maybe T128? My matchups felt like a celebration of the format tbh LOL I feel like I went with a solid choice for this tournament but couldn't go any further. On to better things 🤫💂🇬🇧
I asked to borrow a Gardevoir deck Friday night at the last minute(DONT TRY THIS AT HOME) & it paid off, went 9-4-2 threw some games in day 2 but I'm happy to end the year with a finish.
5-3-1 for 201/900+ @ the first international of the season, had some rough draws near the end but was fun and loved all my opponents. Will definitely be back 🔥
Of course I get packs for secret santa at work! 🎅 This is a good time to reflect on the year & really focus on the things I care about. I love the game more than ever right now, & I can't wait to see y'all next year ❄️
I probably played the worst games of Pokémon I ever have in San Diego, but I had fun playing
@SanderWojcik
's 60 & feel like the kirlia engine is highly underrated. I'm going to look into it further, but for sure I'm going to be commiting more time into the next few tournaments 💯
I've decided to part ways with
@IGG_tcg
. This event marked my final appearance as a member. I want to thank them for the incredible journey we've had together & the friendships we've formed. Moving forward, I'll be pursuing new challenges & opportunities in the game 🙏
3-0-2 start but I couldn't finish strong. I made a ton of goofy mistakes(r6+r7) but I appreciate the fact that I caught them. Not as consistent as straight gardy, has some very cool lines but poor play doesn't help 😅 goodluck to everyone in day 2! I'll be back ✌️
Threw r1 against lugia by not seeing the gift energy underneath my opponents Pokemon, definitely a teachable moment to always be aware of board state 😅 wish me luck in the rest at LAIC 🫡
93/1000 Was doping trying out fusion again, and I was pretty happy with the list going in to the tournament. I didn't draw or play my best in day 2, but I'm glad I got the chance.
Back from Baltimore, I ended up playing a deck I’ve wanted to try at a major for a while now and I’m glad I went for it. Ended 5-1-3, upset I tied r9 but glad I still got 125/1000+. Only loss was to regi, where I earned a DPL for drawing an extra card. S/o to all the homies IGG
5-2-2 in Toronto with mewtwo again, I was blessed with amazing opponents, best of luck in day2 to
@rowan_stavenow
&
@NicholasMoffit2
, both have cool decks. 😅 I learned a lot and will be looking forward to putting in more testing and preparation for Texas 🙏
After Pittsburgh, I decided I never want to feel lost on what the play is, so I chose to lock in gardevoir pretty early. I think I played ok, in both my ties I should've played faster. 11 psychic felt good, no ninja wasn't so bad, zinnia felt good vs most lol on to the next 🫡
I'm pretty hyped to watch OCIC from home, I figured it's best to take a break for a bit. I ended up helping a friend this weekend at the Burbank Card Show in Ontario, right by my house LOL Even though the venue was mainly sports collectibles, I ended up with some good finds 🔥
I needed to practice vs bolt more. The matchup feels out of my control if they hit multiple gusts but I'm positive I could've made it harder for them to win. I will try harder next time!
Went with
@lubyllule
's palk 60, I started the tournament 0-2-1 and almost ran it back, falling short in the end @ 5-3-1. Felt nice to give Inteleon it's flowers 🥀
I made top 4 out of 85 players at the San Diego 1k, losing my semi finals match to Malamar cincinno ending my record at 6-1-2. This helped build my confidence in playing Mew especially heading into Indy soon
Bombed NAIC, didn't get my shit together 😂 Tried my best, opponents were chill. Love IC's, always hype for the next one. Gonna try enjoying the weekend before it's a memory. Good luck to all in day 2 ✌️
NAIC this year was amazing. I was fortunate enough to compete, and even though I'm not that proud of my finish, I was able to meet and hang out with tons of cool people over this past week. I can't wait to prepare myself and finish strong at this upcoming world championships 🔥
I didn't feel well enough to play lzb, so I picked up the deck Friday. Only dropped games to ancient box, gardevoir, & lugia, very simple strategy. ty
