@simonsarris Surprise, you say? Get a load of this: The SSA does NOT check new numbers before issuing them. Credit to @senatorshoshana who’s been yapping about this for years
I want to highlight this. THIS IS WHY THE SSA SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO CHECK SSNs before issuing them!! THEY ISSUED A HISTORY OF EMPLOYMENT TO A UTAH BABY!!!! "A decade before her son was even born an unauthorized immigrant had purchased a forged Social Security number on the streets of Salt Lake City to gain employment."

@wil_da_beast630 “Demisexual” in particular must have been coined by a reg’lar dude. Like you have to be a completely normie, run-of-the-mill bro to think that requiring an emotional connection to be turned on is somehow niche

Turns out you need theory of mind for AIs. AI knows everything, except for how to focus on what is relevant to its interlocutor. Humans know a lot less, but our relevance-identifying mechanism is highly attuned, and mostly unconscious. Theory of mind for AI entails sussing out what information about yourself a mind with endless knowledge needs in order to be useful to you individually. I haven’t tried to prompt for me as a person, but when creating projects for work, I’ve been able to obtain the context, attitude, and reasoning modality I’m looking for in 10 sentences or less.
HOW I LEARNED TO START YAPPING AND LOVE THE AI: I've had way more success lately talking to the AIs, eg for emotional support or troubleshooting health problems! But I had to make a huge shift in how I communicate which came VERY unnaturally to me; I think that's why I was so frustrated at first and took so long to learn. +

Few things. 1) I think I’m naturally above-average observant. It takes no effort to notice either a big picture or a small thing. 2) I was an only child, and grew up around highly verbal adults. I spent most of childhood watching and listening to adults interact. 3) I started my teaching career in an environment that emphasized figuring out what children think, feel, and how they learn. So I spent a few years as a young adult watching and listening to kids interact.
