: August 14, 2024. As of this morning, 75 large active wildfires are being managed with full suppression strategies nationwide. Current wildfires have burned 2,337,468 acres. More than 26,000 wildland firefighters and support personnel are assigned to wildfires.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning continues for Bingham County, ID, Butte County, ID, Jefferson County, ID until 2:00 PM MDT. This storm will contain golf ball sized hail!
There is unhealthy air quality across Idaho due to wildfire smoke. Be sure to limit time outdoors, especially if you're 18 or younger, pregnant, elderly, or have heart/lung issues. Stay safe!
