I’ve spent so many hours from the 1970’s to the present day listening to marvelling at and learning from this album ….ecstatic amazing and life changing me guitars have never sounded so beautiful again
Thank you Tom Verlaine ❤️
The morning after. On reflection, a great tournament. Yesterday we performed 3 Lions with
@Baddiel
&
@FrankOnTheRadio
and together we took our sons to Wembley full of hope. Nearly a magical day but then penalties...roll on the World Cup! 🙏🙂
Am i dreaming or did England win on penalties last night ? ? ?
Were people singing our song in the streets all over the country ?????
Yes we did and yes they were !!!! 🏆🏆🙏🙏
What a World Cup.England surpassing all expectations & the country buzzing ! we've been lucky enough to see our song adopted as a talisman & backdrop for this brilliant time. Is it “coming home” ? honestly I haven’t a clue..but i really really really hope so..C'mon !🏆⚽️🏆🙏
@Will_Fuzz
Producing you ... my friends ..the Bunnymen was such a joy for me ...i loved and was in awe of Will and Ian ...🤔actually and Les and Pete !! Actually i still am 🤔...what a band 🎶🎶🎶
So sad to hear of Mark E Smith’s passing.Working with him was an honour... a true maverick,a special blend of talent and individuality. Sessions ranged from great humour & much laughter to great insanity and much scratching of heads,to much affection and treasured memories RIP
I can’t believe it’s 25 years since Jollification. We’ve never played the album start to finish before. I’ve always wanted to play the London Palladium so that’ll be a first, and the Philharmonic Hall is always an emotional night on Hope Street in Liverpool 🍓
We are really excited to announce we will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Jollification with 2 special one-off shows in London and Liverpool this November 🍓🍓🍓. The album will also be re-released on vinyl in September ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Halfway thru our tour 🎶🎶🎶
it’s been a great privilege to play to these amazing audiences and i’ve really loved watching and spending time with
@badly_drawn_boy
what a songwriter and musician he is … thanks everyone 🙏🎤🎸🙂❤️
Watching a bbc documentary on Fleetwood Mac just now and it’s people who have no insight or connection to the band repeating things they’ve seen and heard on older documentaries about the band ??? It’s really Weird and pretty awful really
Very sad to hear of Tony Butler passing ...Tony and the Zanzibar were at the heart of and supported most of the best local music in the city and gave a stage to many of us musical dreamers ...RIP Xx
Such sad news about Pete Shelley i have many memories of him-he wrote inspiring brilliant songs-loved watching the Buzzcocks at Erics and in 1978 Big in Japan opened for them at Rafters Manchester and Mountford hall L’pool. God bless RIP X
Thanks everyone for listening along and especially a massive thank you to
@petepaphides
for resurrecting this album, releasing it on vinyl for the first time and doing it with such affection and grace.
With Steve Wright about to disappear from Radio 2 after 76 years on afternoon radio I still can’t get over the fact that he broke rank on Radio 1 in about 1989 and played Pure by the
@Lightning_Seeds
3 times in a row.
It was surreal, but great fun playing 3 Lions with Frank &
@Baddiel
22 years after our song first came out and reliving such a special summer of heatwaves, world Cups and memes... ⚽️⚽️🍓
Every time I hear this song it reminds me of making our first album,Ian Broudie put it on in his house and I remember looking over the rooftops in London and thinking life will never be the same again.
Ian Broudie's story – from Liverpool post-punk dark horse to belated pop stardom with The Lightning Seeds – is a great one. And, as his upcoming memoir attests, he tells it really well. I'll be extracting some of those tales at THIS event on Oct 25. Come!
Bank holiday 2022 and i’m trying out my new guitar fx in the attic, I think i was doing that when i was 14 😂!!
The more things change the more they stay the same 🤷♂️
Three Lions by
@Baddiel
@FrankOnTheRadio
and
@Lightning_Seeds
received 1,472,625 streams on UK Spotify yesterday! Not including the '98 version which did 248,273 on its own. It's the largest daily amount ever there for a non-Christmas song 😮🇬🇧
Yeah Bill hated it and said i ruined it cos i got you to play it much faster than the demo and wanted the vocal spat out like Jaques Brel .. a week later he phoned and simply said he was wrong.
I remember when we recorded The Back of Love Bill Drummond didn't like it and we had argument with him. We remixed it one more time with Ian and Dave Bascomb . The next day he came back and loved it. Not sure why but he saw the light!

@Will_Fuzz
Ha i think it was me that said that to Shankar and whistled thetune tohim he copied it & that’s whatcame out 🤔🙂Shankar was pretty stoned and soloing all over the whole track andwe were both dismayed 😅..fun times recording your always exceptional and unique guitar playing 🎸
It's a solo album but listening back to it now, I realise I was so lucky to have the encouragement and support of all the people who contributed to it.
@AlisonMoyet
@Lightning_Seeds
I was very lucky to work with you on both ..hearing this album tonight reminded me how great your input and performance was ...thank you
“Football’s coming home!” England fans’ traditional chant is one step closer to coming true after their football team knocked out Colombia on penalties on Tuesday to progress to the

quarter-finals.
I had returned to Liverpool to work with two (then) unsigned bands
@thecoralband
&
@ZutonsThe
and while in the midst of that, I became re-inspired and decided to quickly record these songs in between their sessions.
Man City worthy champions congratulations ... what a season tho ..almost perfect football by the top 2 ...
