If you belong to a theistic religion and don’t see the progress of SpaceX as an important part of God’s will for humanity, I can’t take your theology seriously.

, based on this interview, I hope you will speak to an attorney about a defamation case.
Barclay wrote that you “said that Hitler was OK.” But, in this discussion, he says he simply intuited that you approve of Hitler.
Saying that you “said that Hitler was OK” is

While his attacks won’t dent your career, a lawsuit could help to protect more vulnerable conservatives who face similar defamatory accusations of racism.
@TheStalwart
This is such an evil and anti-human response that it would seem sophomoric if it were satire. I've never encountered anything like this with GPT-4.
@seanmdav
I normally wish Christians would just stop responding to French's writing, but he's reached a level of self-satire that is almost a work of art. It's hard not to appreciate.
@RichardHanania
Natural conformists are progressives because the right allowed the left to dominate every major institution.
The origin of the problem was right-wing passivity, not right-wing eccentricity.

A thousand years of Christian warriors from the Frigidus through eight crusades: We lived out the Gospels.
CatGirl on Twitter: I went to a nondenominational church once.
@AuronMacintyre
I’m a longtime AO fan - not a hate listener: I actually think it’s a good podcast. But French never brings up his Christian faith when cohost Sarah Isgur is, e.g., promoting divorce or fornication - he uses it exclusively to criticize conservatives.
@Byzness
The first sentence in the OP is just a complete absurdity and disappointing from Daryl.
The ancient Assyrians, according to their own detailed inscriptions, would praise Assur as they decorated walls with human skin and made sculptures out of severed heads.

Wait, so “Nothing Ever Happens” guy *wins* the bet even if China invades Taiwan?
Bakhmut was the bloodiest battle since World War II, but if there’s no nukes that’s not a happening?
@Thechrisleduc1
Course correction is an understatement. MacArthur was a total absolutist on Romans 13: unconditional slavish obedience to any tyranny short of a command to renounce Christ.

John D. Rockefeller, a teetotaler, observed in 1932, "drinking has generally increased, the speakeasy has replaced the saloon, and a vast army of lawbreakers has been recruited and financed on a colossal scale."

Appreciate your analysis on this stuff, but was the Jewish insurgency against Britain really not anti-colonial? Lehi even supported an independent Arab state.

My first impression as I listened to the translation was that “thank God they didn’t let you in” was a compliment - i.e. Tucker would have been an effective CIA agent - but Putin then seemed to turn it around into an insult: “I understand” why they didn’t hire you.
@HistoryGoons
Incredible to see all these replies from people who don't know that reckless homicide is a serious crime in Anglo-American law. Major failure of basic civics.

FYI: “When the plaintiff proceeds pro se, the plaintiff… wins about 4 percent of the time. When the defendant proceeds pro se, the plaintiff wins 86 percent of the time.”
@jamesrwoodtheo1
One way progressives fail the intellectual Turing test in anti-Christian propaganda is having Christian characters use "sinners" to refer to a limited class of people.
Happens in satire like this but also fiction depicting evil crusaders, inquisitors, etc.
@RepKeithAmmon
20 years ago in NH, it was common for homeowners at town meetings to say openly that they wanted to manipulate costs to block young families from buying homes.
@kendrictonn
This is hyperbolic but makes a fair point.
On the one hand conservatives value art as a cultural heritage. On the other hand, many do see art students as archetypal financially-responsible basket-weavers.
@RedTailTabby
@8chabard
Amazing that people can be so charitable about human nature when you only have to look at how we have actually behaved in almost every time and place.
Cf. the unforced self-own of Con, Inc. mocking zoomer women for crying about their exhausting careers and unsustainable rent. “Embrace endless despair 2024” will not work in a political order that is even indirectly representative.
@Ms_LilShadow
“Instead of promoting unity in our church, our nation, and the world, his comments seem to have fostered division.”
I seem to recall that some biblical figure made comments addressing this topic in some way.

Depends on what you like. God Emperor of Dune is light on action but heavy on philosophy, anthropology / religious themes, and interpersonal drama.
It might not be for everyone but it’s my favorite of the first four and the most leisurely, flowing read of the bunch.

@ComicDaveSmith
Whatever you think of the word “libertarian,” Dave had a well-conceived plan for the LP that until now had basically unmitigated success. This podcast episode gave the impression he’s essentially over the whole thing after one major setback.

@TheWorthyHouse
Too simple. There are many analogies between Sullans / the American right and Marians / the American left.
E.g., Clodius' open disdain for traditional sexual morality. Only the populares, not the Sullans, could have produced a Clodius.
@EliLake
@martyrmade
If both Gaza and the West Bank recognized Israel as a permanent state, would you support creating a fully sovereign Palestinian state?
@AuronMacintyre
Since Reason exists to propagandize libertarians from the left, this tells you that most libertarians are right-leaning on immigration.
Democrats claim to support criminal justice reform, but every NH Senate Democrat just voted to block criminals from safely surrendering their babies.
This bill had nothing to do with abortion. We’re talking about babies between birth and 61 days old.
PRO-LIFE VICTORY: The Senate just voted OTPA on HB 1607! Expanding our safe haven law will save MORE NH babies by:
1⃣ Increasing the age limit to 61 days
2⃣ Allowing baby safety devices for anonymous drop-offs
3⃣ Ensuring criminals don't keep babies solely out of fear of arrest
@jacobrintamaki
As a lawyer who argued court cases on Zoom during the shutdown:
It’s because you have to choose between 1) making eye contact and 2) looking like you are making eye contact.
This automatically disrupts, disembodies, and poisons any two-way human communication.
@MonarchoHoppean
@jeremykauffman
Chase Oliver obviously does not represent most libertarians. But when he’s the nominee of something called the Libertarian Party, you can’t blame conservatives who think “libertarianism” means allowing the chemical castration of kids. They’re wrong, but you can’t blame them.
@RokoMijic
That's a whitepill. There's nothing about this mechanism that intrinsically favors the left - right-wingers now are just low-agency and defeatist.
This afternoon, the NH House will vote on the lives of babies.
HB 1607 will restore the ability of parents to safely surrender unwanted babies, many of whom will otherwise die of neglect or abuse.
Please pray for the passage of HB 1607.
