Fifty years ago I wrote to Bill Heynes, Vice President of Jaguar, asking him advice on how to become a car designer for Jaguar. He replied on the 1st March 1968. On 1st March 2018 we launched I Pace to the world. Happy man!

I was greatly saddened to hear of the untimely death of Richard Parry-Jones. He touched many of our lives in the car world, particularly the Ford world. He had a very special genius in him that cut through the problem to the solution. He will be missed. RIP Richard.

I never liked the car but let me tell you about the engine. The original V12 car was too long. TW found the V6 that the Metro group B used was the right size. The engine was TOTALLY redesigned for the 220 by Geraint Castleton White at TWR. A very powerful engine for its time.
