A few from today’s visit to the @eastlancsrly for a final ride behind 33109 before it is stopped for overhaul. Really enjoyable day, despite the failure of the Class 37 and the timetable slipping. Particularly pleased to ‘red pen’ the Class 01 and catch up with a Pacer again.

A serious embankment failure has occurred near Sterns, on the Severn Valley between Bridgnorth and Hampton Loade. Approx 30m of the track and trackbed has been damaged, meaning the railway will be unable to operate services over its full length for some time. 📸 @svrofficialsite

Merchant Navy Class 35018 "British India Line" passes Slitting Mill, near Staveley, as it works 5Z35 08.45 Carnforth Steamtown–Derby Litchurch Lane. The loco is due to appear at a @railway200 event at @AlstomUK Derby tomorrow in connection with the 1–3 August Greatest Gathering.

After seeing this under restoration at Barrow Hill many years ago, it’s great to see to see the Brighton Belle back on the main line at last. Look forward to seeing it moving under its own power in the not too distant future.
Without doubt the move of the day, sees the return of the Brighton Belle' to the mainline. @LocoServicesGrp #Class20 20132 & 20118 'Saltburn-by-the-Sea' have taken Brighton Belle cars 'Mable', Gravetye Manor', 'Doris' & 'Beryl' on a test run to Chester. @MrTimDunn @DavidHorne @LNER The Chilli Pipers played on the Edinburgh launch trip earlier that year, I think, which was not one I got to cover. Really enjoyed those that I did, though. Sad as it was to see the HSTs and most of the 225s go, the Azumas were certainly introduced in style.
