Wano Country Arc, 10/10
Reread the arc with hopes of it fixing the issues I had bc the weekly read can mess up the plotting for me & more importantly to properly judge the arc with a clear picture & decide if ill be satisfied with the conclusion of the war or not.
#onepiece
“But Oda approved of it”
“Indians and Arabs have similar DNAs”
“If you want representation wait for your turn”
“Alabasta is based on both Egypt and India”
Do you even hear yourselves 😭
I honestly wish they had cast Arab actors for Cobra and Vivi since Oda clearly drew inspiration from Ancient Egypt for their characters, but it feels like no one really cares in Netflix
Since One Piece has been dropping supposedly 'peak' chapters lately, I think its the right time to talk about my criticism towards this manga.
Three words, corybantic, mundane, and underwhelming. One piece is one of, if not the most overrated manga I've ever read.
Major TW but you need to see this, dont look away and educate yourself a little bit instead of that ‘neutral’ mentality youre trying to follow. You are naive and ignorant and you need to fix that
This is what ‘Joyboy’ has been doing long ago, & this is what Luffy has been doing now.
To Gorosei, the heads of the WG, this contagious freedom the Nika model brings is definitely the most ridiculous power in the world;
Its that very day where their real enemy is truly born.
But as the Gorosei said, at its awakening form it is the peak representation of freedom, where not only the strength of the rubber body & its properties improves but in its awakened form you can manipulate your surroundings, making them ‘free’ in the sense of how Luffy’s body is.
His freedom is contagious, wherever he goes he spreads this freedom, liberating islands like Alabasta, Skypiea, Dressrosa and not just these islands or kingdoms as a communities but also individuals like all of the Strawhat members or other characters etc.
To freely stretch your body at will & to freely stretch your surroundings at will, Luffy has been doing this since the very 1st chapter.
Luffy has always been free, not just in the sense of his rubber body but his self, doing whatever he wants selfishly & following his heart.
I think this chapter is where it clearly affirms the importance of the Gomu Gomu no Mi DF symbolically.
Luffy’s body has the properties of rubber and he can freely stretch himself however he likes, and this has been going around for a long time in the community ofc.
“Luffy does not want fame, he just wants to be Pirate King” - Someone that needs to drop op or start from scratch. You missed the entire point of the manga.
Luffy is a free man who’s always in a bright mood, who laughs & smiles all the time. Its not only his freedom being contagious but also the smile and laughter he carries, we always end up seeing these liberated characters with laughter & smiles on their faces after he saves them.
Just like how his rubber body represents his own freedom, he can also manipulate his surroundings, turning them into the properties of rubber as well. This parallels with what he is and what he has been doing to his surroundings since day one.
I really love the coloring and artwork of the beach in episode 8 of Dressup Darling.
As someone who's a big fan of going to all kinds of beaches, sometimes the beach designs in anime can get repetitive and generic. This one was artistically so distinct and empty. I love it.
It’s really sad that ppl get attacked for having standards, most QRTs are people who don’t understand the crafts behind the anime they consume so it can look like nothing’s wrong in their eyes. Anyone who critiques to them is an over exaggerating nerd who just wants to look smart
As I was reading TYBW & enjoying it I had feeling its prolly going to end up a fav but it also reminded me that the reception of me liking it that much will be negative here & now its already starting to show lol. I think this whole thing is really pathetic but it is what it is
The biggest mistake all of you have ever made while judging MAL is assume that the Top 10 on MAL are ‘competing’ with each other according to their score on which is ‘better’ instead of looking at an anime’s individual score. Then you proceed to call new seasonal anime overrated-
One quick statement I want to make since people assume I'm only supporting Spy x Family
I'm only bringing attention to how the Top 10 Anime System on MAL isn't working properly. Clearly there's some underline issues with the system
Mushishi, 10/10
It lived up to its name as one of the most loved healing anime and it's definitely one of the most beautiful anime in general. Every individual ep had me pensive with its self-contained story which made me feel relaxed. It felt like I was experiencing the events-
Sonny Boy, 9/10
Another recent anime added to the long list of good anime that came out in the last couple of years.
Seeing something of Sonny Boy's quality only reminds me of how these 'anime fell off' takes stink so bad lol
@Techrickal
Thats not the problem here, they purposely avoided casting arab actors bc the studio’s owner is a zionist. and yes India is a cited influence but thats mostly related to the buildings of Alabasta and the castle. Cobra and Vivi have nothing to do with India like they do w Egypt
CSM fans who're unsatisfied with the director's approach to the anime should realize that adaptations wont always meet the source material fans' expectations, sometimes it takes a bold approach towards the adaptation and this will at times give it its own identity.
All in all alot of the problems I had with the arc has been solved especially the conclusion. After contemplating on the worst gen trio vs the two yonko and its conclusion I feel really satisfied with the outcome and even happy about it compared to my initial read where I felt-
Revolutionary Girl Utena, 9.5+/10
I’m a fan of Ikuhara’s style from what I’ve seen from Sarazanmai & Mawaru Penguindrum, so my experience with Utena was amazing. Its now one of my fav anime and im sure ill benefit from it even more when I revisit it in the future.
Masaaki Yuasa works ranked:
1. The Tatami Galaxy, 9.5/10
2. Kaiba, 9.25/10
3. Ping Pong The Animation, 9.25/10
4. Eizouken, 9/10
5. Ride Your Wave, 8.5/10
6. Devilman Crybaby, 8/10
7. Kemonozume, 7/10
8. Japan Sinks, 6.5/10
9. The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl, 6/10
I'm gonna be honest with yall but I can't get how people can't understand the hype behind a certain thing. Like are you incapable of understanding what makes that certain thing appeal to others? Do you not have the ability to do so? Or is it bc you just can't understand them? Idk
who's a fictional character where you just absolutely do not get the hype. like you don't even hate let alone just dislike the character you just straight up do not understand what people see in them to hype them up over
Alot of factors can contribute to a huge jump. Your taste can change alot overtime, your values are changing too. The way you understand things changes when you compared the 1st and 2nd time. Other factors like mood and mindset can be impactful on how you enjoy something as well
@Aleczandxr
Ah, the classic "I know better" stance. A seinen adaptation of Hunter x Hunter could take the series to a whole new level by delving into complex character dynamics, exploring the grittier side of the story, and offering a mature narrative that transcends the norm.
Mobile Suit Gundam - The Origin, 10/10
Now my fav Gundam installment, The Origin excels in many aspects that make me consider it a whole tier of its own.
Easily Yasuhiko Yoshikazu’s magnum opus, he was able to create a work I consider with no doubt the greatest of its genre.
HUNTERxHUNTER, 10/10
I’ve only read DCE and SW arcs before but this time I went for the whole thing, its a really refreshing experience. HxH is already my 2nd fav work even before reading the manga and now my appreciation for HxH and Togashi’s pen skyrocketed
I love every fucking thing Madhouse has done to 2011 HxH anime. I love its artstyle, its soundtrack, its animation, its color grading, characters’ voice acting and cast, adapted story from manga, its pacing, everything are all PEAK. ALL HAIL 2011 HXH ANIME
I hate every fucking thing Madhouse has done to 2011 HxH anime. I hate its artstyle, its soundtrack, its animation, its color grading, characters’ voice acting and cast, adapted story from manga, its pacing, everything are all ASS. FUCK 2011 HXH ANIME
The funny thing about people is when they see some ridiculous opinion to them bc their brains cant register it to something as simple as taste or preference, they go on and reduce the opinion to something like “yeah they didnt watch enough anime” or some other shitty excuse 😭
Listen, I've been reading this manga since 2015 and I can tell you this is story contains some of the most formulaic writing, puerile characters, and overall jading story line, that drags, and drags... and drags.
The worst thing that could happen to a user is to get the Amaan qrt where he actively sniffs around TL to look for a random tweet of a random ass guy doing his random ass business, misunderstand the tweet then qrt it bc he has to be funny just to validate his existence on the app
These Bocchi CSM comparisons are starting to get toxic and im definitely sure thats not good for Bocchi, the fans are being obnoxious towards each other especially Bocchi ones and thatll just bring unnecessary slander towards it
Texhnolyze, 10/10
This rewatch was insane, went from a 6 to a 10. Those last 4 episodes were absolutely crazy, and when everything came together I was amazed. The sound design and atmosphere were perfect. I love what Texhnolyze was trying to do and I find so much value in it
Golden Kamuy, 10/10
Been following the anime since 2018 & it was one of my fav mystery anime. I had my eye on the manga for a long time but I usually I stay away from ongoing manga bc I rather read at one go. Finally got to experience this (forgot 85% of what happened too)-
I'm tired of people overhyping this OBVIOUS milk cow, I've been watching One Piece drag for song long to the point where I don't even care about what goes on anymore.. I just want it to end! Many people share this very same opinion..
Favs of 2022 🐒
It was a great year for me media wise especially with the manga medium and anime revisits, the mosaic doesn’t include any rewatches btw.
Anitwt can be such a garbage ass place bc it makes people feel insecure about what they like and ive seen it happen countless of times.
The very thought of me just thinking about how the reception will be towards me having TYBW as a fav is actually fucking disgusting to me bc-
like the conclusion was anticlimactic and doubtful when you consider it was a huge and deep 20 year conflict. I had so many panels and pages saved to make a thread on the issues that were solved but now I got no motivation for it 😭 Ill just summarize it below.
I'm not alone on this. Firstly, I don't agree with how Oda depicts pirates in One Piece, just call them adventurers for gods sake. Pirates are suppose to be robbers of the sea, not naïve corybantic idiots that run around screaming about the importance of friendship.
Shaming people for learning a language just for wanting to experience a fictional work is too close-minded, just qrting this to remind yall that you shouldn't let these types of replies discourage you to pick up a language for whatever reason that benefits you
