When I was growing up I absolutely hated and dreaded getting shots. I always felt like I was going to die after I got one. As I grew up I felt like that was just my anxiety making me overreact. But now.. I wonder if it was my intuition as these shots are literally hurting kids.

Just efiled our last return! Yay one more deadline done. These youngsters complaining about a 7-8 hr work day and I just pulled a 14 almost 15 hr work day and still have smile on my face.

I honestly don’t need or even want things like flowers, jewelry, etc. I think it’s far more romantic for my husband to hold my hand through the hard times in life and tell me we will get through it together. Knowing I have a true partner in life is the romance I want. 🤷🏼♀️

I got a few “I really hate to file extensions” this year again. Most of my clients accept extensions but I still have a few hold outs. Idk why people are so against an extension. I’ve always filed an extension on my own returns. I’ve heard IRS agents say it lowers audit risk.

Plus it probably doesn’t help that no one would believe you that this was all from vaccine shedding. No one wants to admit it is real. I experienced it just from being around people in 2021. Not even that closely.

The IRS: you have to file (or extend) and pay by 4/15
Also the IRS: we will take 18 months to read a letter and respond and 12 months to process a electronically filed amended return. Oh and there is nothing you can do about it.

Interesting, a large number of my clients handle their own books. And oddly enough one of my favorite parts of my job is cleaning up those books. It’s like a puzzle for me to solve. I built my firm around teaching small business owners (or their wives) to do their own books.

I don’t have the source on me right now but I would look at the court case where the stripper got to deduct her breast enhancement bc they were so large and uncomfortable it was clear that in normal life she wouldn’t want them. And her income afterwards skyrocketed.

The mentions in this post demonstrate how little some people understand regarding what it is like to own a business. Plenty of business owners turn down small jobs because there are better opportunities out there!
Sounds like you should do it yourself then.
$140 is barely worth answering the phone for, let alone setting up your account, acquiring part, scheduling install, and then billing it out.
To be fair though, can’t really expect customers to understand this.

Help me read a crypto coinbase report. The gain and loss summary says no sales occurred. But she has a couple of “send” transactions to unknown during the year. Is the “send” a sale? There is no detail on the send transaction other than qty sent.

Birth control gave me a blood clot at 23. Told I could never take any hormones the rest of my life bc I’d likely have another clot. Then at 34 had a cyst. Doctor tried to give me hormonal birth control to deal with the cyst. I persisted bc it could kill me.

I’ve never allowed a client to watch me prepare a return. If someone asked I just told them that isn’t how we do a return. I told them more errors were likely this way bc my full attention isn’t spent on the return. I never lost a client because of this. And no arguments.

I don’t refund sham. Every client has a preference. So I do their withholding calculations to match their preferences. Some clients want $10k back other clients want to owe $100k.

We need people in charge that will protect us. I love legal immigrants. I have many in my family and friends. But skipping the line and invading our country isn’t fair to legal immigrants. And clearly becoming a dangerous situation for us already in America.

As an accountant… I 💯 understand. Even though sometimes we do similar work not the same thing at all! We are the ones the bookkeepers call when they get stuck. We are not bookkeepers. I would be furious. Especially, as a business owner.

It’s also easier to negotiate the trade in value than a discount off of your new care price. They wiggle a lot on that value. Say oh I know a friend that will pay an extra $1k for it and they usually match it!

We aren’t even warned it could do things like cause blood clots (happened to me) or constant cramping and excessive bleeding (also happened to me) Best thing I did for my health is to stop taking it! I felt better almost immediately!

Today is the day to call into the IRS. Less than a 30 second wait hold on the practicer hotline. Called twice and got really friendly people today. So if you had something pending and you were putting it off today might be the day to call 🤷🏼♀️

BUT if you switch to a C-Corp now the entity still has to pay the taxes. Which could be more or less depending on your tax bracket. All of the money you receive as a distribution down the road is taxed for capital gains and income tax (double taxation).

We are supposed to have wrinkles at 37? I guess my body didn’t get that memo either 🤣🤣…. I feel younger at 37 then I did at 25. I’m also a LOT stronger and can handle longer cardio. The only thing that declined is my flexibility and joint pain!

I met my husband when I was 24 and he was 34. Been together now for almost 13 years. Barely notice the age gap unless it’s brought up. OR on my birthday when he tells me that I can’t complain about getting older bc I am still young. Even though he complained at my age 🤣🤣🤣

This feels ridiculous until I did the math and realized I spend more than $25k at the grocery store each year! We never eat out (I do mean never). So most of our food comes from the grocery store (unless we grow or raise it). We do eat well. Lots of fresh foods and we eat a lot!

It is exhausting and in the winter I do want to quit sometimes. Not having central heat is the worst and having to lug water half way across 40 acres in jugs because my pipes burst again sucks! But in the summer it is so beautiful that I fall in love with it all over again.

I have 2 cell phones. It was the best decision I ever made. Clients have no boundaries and often text at 5 or 6am. This why that cell phone sits in the office and my personal phone stays with me.

Omg once upon time a client had that and after a lot of probing and digging it turned out some of the expenses included a lift ticket to vail and lingerie. Client ended up being being fired. Not the only issue.

When I was in college, my mom drove me to the doc. He couldn’t convince me to do extra blood tests. He brought my mom in thinking she would support him. She tore him to pieces (especially after she saw he made me cry). I had just wanted some cough medicine.

I always take my baby chics away from the mom and raise them like I would day old chics or incubated eggs. I think that is pretty normal and increases the survival rate. Anyone that has an issue probably has never raised chickens.

I used to work for a couple that owned a CPA firm. Husband had 2 sexual harassment lawsuits and wrongful termination cases. Other women had admitted to having “uncomfortable” interactions. Then he dated one employee for a couple of years. Wife finally “walked in” them at office.

I actually like the QBI deduction. Yes it gets complicated with passive losses, aggregated business lines, and income limits but I have a spreadsheet template I use that simplifies it all. And it saves my clients (and me!!) lots of $$ at the end of the year!
