ROCKTON: Work on the new SB IL 2 Rock River bridge is progressing as workers focus on building the deck. The bridge is anticipated to open this summer and traffic will shift in order to work on the NB span. This project is on pace to wrap up in 2026. #ILTraffic

This work scheduled for Jan. 31 has been postponed because of weather. A new date has not been scheduled.
There will be short-term closures for all the ramps to northbound and southbound I-39 from U.S. 20 beginning at 1 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, for utility work. One ramp will be closed at a time during the work.

We are anticipating some freezing rain overnight into Saturday morning in the Quad Cities, communities along the Mississippi River and areas west of I-39. Please drive with caution. #ILTraffic
Freezing rain will overspread the area from south to north overnight into Saturday AM. Expect dangerous driving conditions. East central IA could see up to 1/3 of an inch of ice on trees & powerlines. Even a small amount ice on roads is exactly as slippery as thicker ice!
