A true account of 16 hijacked IA flights, 1971-99, including IC 814 (I was Cabin Crew Chief). 1st edition (Feb'14) sold out. Now in a Kindle version (on Amazon)
Folks, a series on IC 814 - The Kandahar Hijack has been released on Netflix. Six episodes. View and share your opinion. Two things:
1. If you have any queries, I'm available here.
2. If you wish to know the story as it happened, get a Kindle copy of my book "IA's Terror Trail".
@sunandavashisht
Thanks Ma'am. As the head of the cabin crew team on board that flight, and after watching the distortion in the name of cinematic liberty, I couldn't agree more with you. Gratitude 🙏
@37VManhas
I'd have been happy if he had met them. However, as someone who hardly mises a single tweet of yours, I am disappointed with your angry comment. Same PM who goes and spends every Deepawali with the men in olives at the borders?
@smitabarooah
Despite accepting that waiting can be a taxing affair, their agressive attitude makes me livid. Even worse is some 'well-placed' people sharing and RTing the videos. It's designed to put pressure on the harried employees. Try doing this abroad.

The Print revels in publishing such repulsive material by non-entities. And then they seek 'contributions' for 'Quality Journalism". What a joke.
@Dhichkyaaon
Twitter, and the current gloom, can certainly do with more such positive, inspirational, and love-promoting stories. God bless you two. Sharing something I bought from Sikkim three decades ago (on my honeymoon) 😀😀😀
@KiranKS
As a confounded Delhiite, I can only say: Sadly, no matter how many corrupt people get arrested, exposed or shamed, voters of Dilli will only think of free Bijli, free paani, free bus travel for women.
Capital can go to hell. Tragically,it emboldens AK to spread freebies culture
Dear friends,
If u are really keen to read in detail about what transpired in the Government circles when IC-814 was hijacked, pick up this book written by late Flt Engr AK Jaggia and ace writer
@isaurabhshukla
It's on Kindle (Rs.238) & paperback (Rs.251). Authentic, informative
@DivaJain2
Haldiram is garbage? No, Ma'am. Ask expats like us, how their export items like ready-to-eat food save us from being at the mercy of over-rated, over-priced Indian restaurants. Back in India too, they run some of the most hygienic eateries serving reasonably priced street food.
@pretpat
I'm based in Geneva. If u choose to meet me over lunch, I hope you'll have the courage to faithfully report: I met a proud Indian. I admire his belief that India will get better with each passing year. My arguments couldn't stand up to his optimism

I feel safer, more reassured, optimistic about India under the rule of "these uneducated politicians" than I did under the rule of a party headed by a dynastic leadership.

@narendramodi
What a brilliant, impromptu speech. I derive a lot of happiness from the fact that you and BJP discovered each other at the right time. God bless, Ma'am.
@sunandavashisht
@akki_kap
I am glad you have alluded to the sickening content of AK's series and films. Since we know his leanings, it appears to be a calculated attempt to portray Indian society in such poor light.
@pretpat
Differing is not trolling, Ma'am - everyone who differs strongly with you isn't hating you. You must also reflect - you didn't open a viewpoint for discussion; you passed a verdict.
@smitabarooah

Let's not pretend - no country allows legal immigrants unless it is in dire need of skilled/unskilled labour. There is no charity involved.
Yes, barring a few exceptions, the Indians have a near perfect record of being grateful to the country that hosted them.

That notice is probably the only good thing BJP's Delhi unit has done in recent times.
Having said that, I do feel Atishi loves to hear her own voice, loves the attention she gets at pressers, and is an extremely ambitious woman. Her histrionics get on one's nerves.

Some, like you, will have good reasons to be satisfied with prime delivery - for them video is an add-on; for others, like me, a video service (as a choice to Netflix etc) is the reason we pay an ever-increasing subscription- the delivery is an add-on 😆
@KiranKS
That indeed was the lowest he could stoop to, mocking the pain of KPs who suffered such sickening brutality. In the same speech, he called the TKF "jhoothi film". As Anupam Kher said in his reaction: "Bad dua nahi leni chahiye".
@HartoshSinghBal
@MedusaDevi
His incompetence? Ask the crew of IC-814 - I was one of them - and the passengers held hostage in Kandahar. It was his negotiating ability that got us released Mr. Bal -moderate your hatred man, it'll do you some good. Spot-on

Your analysis and predictions sound credible and scary.

It's such a pleasure to hear you commentate - been a fan of your batting and later TV appearance. Your subtle humour is such a delight to hear. Please stay active in the commentary box. Like me, countless Indian fans follow you with admiration.
@paroush_kochhar
Bravo, young man, for possessing the courage to share it in public. The outpouring of love and encouragement from ex-Army Officers, ex-Police Officers and other well-placed individual here, has left me misty-eyed. Best wishes Paroush.
@chalada1921
@NAN_DINI_
What an intelligent comment that is - public memory is short and while Jairam's antics continue to surface, nowadays Mander's role doesn't get the attention and the abhorrence it deserves. Your apprehension about the powerful lobbies running US is quite a probability.
@vivkamat
@Petercampbell1
@reach_anupam
I love the respect your comment accords to the brands, Vivek. Yes, some Britons must have worked hard to establish them - Indians will do justice to the iconic names.
@smitabarooah
The disruptors and anarchists don't seem to understand that Indians have changed. Recall what happened to Chapaak, Rasbhari .... Readers and viewers can see through the machinations.
@D_Roopa_IPS
Take a bow Ma'am for calling him out. My response to his tweet y'day: Pitiably. you have made it very personal Mr. Sardesai. By tweeting this, you haven't shared the father's emotions - you have tacitly expressed your lack of faith in the investigative agencies......
@adarshahgd
@annamalai_k
Educated, knowledgeable, humble, patriotic, nationalistic. He has touched a chord with the masses. And the amount of hard work he has put in is amazing. With some blessings of Param Pita Parmeshwar, may his party do well in TN LS & Assembly elections. He is a national hero now.
@shaaqT
Thanks for your kind words. 🙏
Do watch the Nat Geo (45 minutes, one episode) documentary too. Most authentic, absolutely non-dramatic. And do share your views of that, please 🙂
@virsanghvi
Most of the people u r urging to watch this 'drama', also watched how a systematic campaign was run to 'trap' Modi 2002 onwards. I'm disappointed with ur pronouncements and ur bias. You ought to hv reserved some anger for rapes elsewhere too, not just follow a dynasty everywhere.
@DhruvalkMehta
If AS Dulat is the officer we're talking about, I can only say his actions in the later years were confounding. The book he released, his opinions aired on TV shows left one surprised and dismayed
Ajit Doval as the IB Director played a stellar role in the resolution of the crisis
@manu_dabas
@bhupendrachaube
I'm hugely surprised by the stance the normally objective Bhupendra has taken. Why is the media focussing only on the Khan son? Is it impossible to believe that this episode may put youngsters like him back on track? Till recently, anyone/ everyone in BW seemed to smoke at will
@dramitjeswani
@TheSanjivKapoor
As a crew member of ill-fated IC 814, couldn't agree more. It's rarely taken me more than 10 minutes at Delhi. I too wish th queues weren't there but the threat can't be ignored. As

I read the news of the Canadian parliament event nd felt very distressed as I thought of you and those families who lost their kin. Such immoral politics 😠
Stay strong Sanjay - I just read that Indian consulate in Canada is going to hold a memorial service for Kanishka victims
@richaanirudh
It's a good film. Chandra Prakash Dwivedi ji's a great director. He says that he worked 18 years on th project but still no one came forward to produce it. Then Aditya Chopra nd Akshay Kumar got associated with CPD. Each actor has delivered powerful performances. Just bad luck.
@KiranKS
I 💯 agree with what
@JeffryJonThomas
and
@Ramuiyer
have said in their comments. Basically, BJP's intentions are honest, policies more development-oriented, region-specific and equitable.
@fireboltt
Sensible,intelligent couple. My Dad went 2 jail aftr M.K. Gandhi's assassination coz of his RSS connection - he was a Dr. in Punjab. For assembly elections he'd vote for Congress to keep Akalis at bay. (Now of course the Akalis r BJP's strongest ally coz their outlook changed
@Nidhi
U might think it's funny, some might admire ur caustic comment but years ago when one started watching NDTV, never expected promising, talented, sophisticated anchors like you would become so bitter and take sides openly. And the change didn't happen in '14. Anyway, best wishes.
@alpinelad
@Sachchu63927342
Absolutely true. I have lived in EU, specifically GVA, for a dozen years and I can vouch for what you say. Imagine, two people meet, discuss India, conclude that it doesn't inspire optimism, and a tweet follows. And then play the victim card ...

@airfrance
on its Geneva-Paris virtually snatches hand bags from passengers. I'd expect first-come-first-served policy to be applied - if then all bins fill up, I'd happily hand my cabin bag, and not feel cheated

2. "The Kashmir Files is garbage" - Director Saeed Mirza.

Sidhu is unique. As a commentator, he's given listeners much entertainment. If only he had handled his political career better - quitting BJP didn't take him too far.
@englandcricket
I am finding it difficult to accept that English Cricket Board couldn't allow the world's greatest pacer to go past Shane Warne's 708 wickets? Jimmy Anderson wud've needed maybe just another Test to achieve that.
Take a bow, James. I feel blessed to have watched your brilliance.
@manishasinghal
@aeroconcepts1
Happy Dussehra.
As an ex-Air Indian - actually an ex-IA bloke - I think the lower one was an attempt to assuage the feelings of hurt IC ians who felt the airline was doing better than AI, so why the merger. But that's history.
I like the 1st one, and my paycheck? Plenty 😀

@mehartweets
Men in uniform unfailingly address women with respect, Harsha. You might have good reasons for your opinion about her - I ain't any admirer either - but please don't deprecate the gentlemanly behaviour of a respected police officer.
@JSS779
@lufthansa
I'm a bit baffled by th policy of Lufthansa & "Swiss" to give snacks a go-by on flights of 1 hour duration (like Fra-Gva).
@airfrance
will invariably offer (Par-Gva) a muffin/sandwich/croissant along with a beverage of your choice i.e., coffee, tea, canned drinks, even wine/beer.

Might not be great investigative journalism but is attention-catching. MSM didn't show this. Beyond that good luck to the two of them.
