This morning Santa came down from a @IndStatePolice trooper helicopter for their annual Shop with a Cop event at the Target in Fishers, Indiana 🎅🏼 . This will be the last Shop for Kids event for Superintendent Doug Carter who’s set to retire next month. He helped started it.

I need more journalists to be empathetic to families of crime victims. People are more than just your story & deadline. They’re more than your boss being mad because you’re in competition with the next outlet. How you behave is exactly why they don’t trust us at all.

#UPDATE: On Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, just after 11:00 a.m., IMPD Southeast District officers responded to the 1400 block of Salisbury Lane on a report of a death investigation. Officers arrived and found a teenage girl shot.

It’s been 6 years 💙🖤 Since Officer Chateri Payne died. One of the first stories I did in Shreveport & her family always treated me so kind since I was new to the city. Her daughter Aubreigh was 2 when it happened & she’s turning 8 this year.

#HappeningNow: The balloon release & vigil for Chanti Dixon at Grandville Cooperative. Dixon was found shot dead earlier this week about 1,000 feet away from where she lived within the apartment complex. An Uber driver was arrested and charged in her killing.
