‘For you are wrong, Socrates, in supposing that love is of the beautiful.’ ‘What then is it?’ ‘It is of engendering and begetting upon the beautiful.’ –Plato

@Hyperaionian Maybe you should stick to conspicuously reading Plato in the corners of cafes in hopes of impressing the barista you like; that's more your speed.

@acteduweininger If you can convert someone then you are saved by proxy. Pretty much the basis of evangelism/Christianity, hence the rabid—selfish—need to get people to become Christian.

@ArtemisConsort Given that we can synthesize particular nutrients and have studied the effects of supplementing only vitamin c or only b3 or only vit d, and getting similar results on average, we have a pretty good idea of what things do. What we don't know is how good other pythochemicals are.

@Katapetasma2 Acts 8:30-31 New King James Version (NKJV) So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.

@Hyperaionian @KornelS89696 Interesting that in this case the distinction between monotheism and polytheism is not about the "number of First Causes" (Because number does not apply to the First) but rather about whether the world has any divinity to it.

@goatofthousand @KornelS89696 I'm simply on such a level that I have leaped above the Arch of Heaven into the ambit of ΣΙΓΕ in the Hypercosmic Abyss of the Father, without climbing the intermediary steps of gods and angels and demons and heroes and men! (This but unironically.)

@TheGloriousLion Though the general evangelist thanking God is rather pride, pride that god would ever take personal interest in the petty successes of his sportsball career. That some god doesn't incapacitate him for engaging in such frivolity is a comedy.

@KornelS89696 Monotheism/Creationism (Abrahamism) is, to me, also a type of atheism since it negates our reasons to believe in a god. We need divinity to legitimize our values, but if our values and what we value is created then they're relative, they are nothings from nothing.

@royalbloodsnow @zinniaa_3 A girl going through puberty at is the opposite of the OP, most girls are completely done with puberty at 16. The only physical difference between a woman at 17 and 23 is that she looks worse with each year (wrinkles), but behind them she looks the same.

@parhypostates Only an ignorant god can theologically justify compatibilism. One who created without knowing where it would lead. Or an impersonal god who doesn't create but is some future past tense David Hartian retroactive co-creation by all souls after theosis (bootstrap paradox).

@RessurecBarbar @GraniRau "God must not fight in person for the unwarlike. For the law says that those who are brave, not those who pray, are to come out safe from wars. For it is ... those who take care of the land who harvest the fruits, nor do those remain healthy who do not take care of their health."
