This is absolutely a solid concern. Because Georgia gives MARTA jack squat for dedicated funding, the agency relies heavily on "fare box" (the fares collected from riders) in order to fund operations. Lower ridership means less money to properly operate trains and buses. 2/

Atlanta has a history of electing mayors that live next to 285, including Dickens. Elect people that live near other constituents, ride bikes, and don’t find it reasonable to spend so much money on a truck.

Nice car, Mayor @andreforatlanta ! We are electrifying our fleet to move Atlanta forward to a greener, more climate-resilient future. The Atlanta Mayor's official car is now electric. 🔌🚗

Not everyone is gonna love it… however several do. Rode the new cycle track on Memorial from the BeltLine in Reynoldstown to Downtown. Took me 7 minutes. Seven. Minutes. No 5 PM rush hour vehicular traffic that I passed on Memorial, either.

$2.6 mil to run 2-4 shuttles (up to 60 passengers)- SAME AS AN EXISTING BUS FULL of people at a time. What a waste of time & money. Just BUILD BRT that can MOVE THOUSANDS AN HOUR & shut out these grifters from any position that influences decisions.

MARTA continues to waste your tax dollars, spending more $$$ on resurfacing parking lots next year than Campbellton high capacity transit line… and now this bullshit. @CollieMARTA , I thought you wanted to improve transit services and grow ridership. THIS AIN’T IT!

"Funding for the nearly half-mile Demonstration Pilot will be supported by a significant contribution from MARTA..." I'd like to know exactly how much money MARTA is spending on this demo of autonomous Personal Rapid Transit vehicles at the airport.

Atlanta is the bicycling darling of the southeast, regardless of decades of horrendous sprawl & perception. Anyone that builds auto-centric in the city is missing out on $$$ and cementing themselves as has-beens who don’t understand the current & future realities of our city.

The BeltLine is not enough. We need to open more streets for bike/ped/transit only access so we can get around easier and frankly have a more enjoyable city to live in.

This weekend was good for enjoying the weather & being out. With the increased BeltLine movement it really made the case for ATL to live up to being a walkable city & close some streets. Anyone know the status onthat Irwin Study?

Atlanta legislation to not require parking moving forward to NPU’s! Review amended language, NPU dates, & show up to support! Businesses should not be required by the government to add vehicular parking if the business does not wish to incur said costs.

A reminder that the @AtlantaBeltLine is not enough. We need continuous, reliable routes for All Ages & Abilities, connecting neighbors with destinations across the city. We have numerous gaps, however lots of progress in queue. Next few years will be huge for Atlanta.

REMINDER: Mayor of Atlanta does not control MARTA’s fare box price of entry, MARTA does. Construction takes years, do not let dumb shit like this be a talking point to halt the overall project.

Mayor Dickens has qualms about Beltline rail based on operating costs: “We are still in the state that does not fund its public transit...We do not have support for MARTA nor will we have support for the Beltline...it’s all in the fare box" 1/

People who only travel Atlanta by car are missing out on how connected our bicycle network is becoming. Just rode 11.5 miles. I estimate ~75% was protected. Where are we placing downtown’s jersey barriers after completion, @jasonsdozier @AmirForATL @WestmorelandATL ??

Water was out or low pressure for much of the city from ~9 AM - 3 PM on Friday. CITY HALL WENT HOME EARLY FRIDAY DUE TO LACK OF WATER. Not buying the “we didn’t know the severity until late Friday night” gaslighting, GTFOH

Shoutout @MARTAtransit for getting me from Dunwoody to O4W in less than 30 minutes. Excellent speeds by rail and when the bus transfer hits just right, you really cannot beat the ride. We need to increase the frequency of bus routes so everyone can experience this freedom.

Two zoning items I’d like to see addressed in Atlanta this year: 1) reduce minimum lot sizes, as it makes no sense single family homes to have larger required lot sizes 2) allow cafes / neighborhood commercial throughout the city, or at minimum the BeltLine overlay district
