I was at a funeral & one of the mourners sent for drinking water at a nearby trading centre. I was given one of the bottles. With my usual inquisitiveness, I had to look for the expiry date & realised it was 11th May 2023!! Do people ever check the dates before they drink water?

Shocking that some colleagues can make stupid allegations. So as I was at this High Level Govt meeting in Kigali where Minister Chris Baryomunsi led Ugandas delegation, corruption apologists claimed I had travelled to pick more money from homosexuals to fund the censure motion!

The weekend is here. The Alcohol Control Bill was tabled & will be soon processed into law. Once assented too, the law will state the time of sale of Alcohol & deal with with producers of illicit alcohol which is harmful to peoples lives among others. Happy to have championed it

Happy to have interacted with Pupils (prefects) of Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary school. During our school days prefects wore the same uniform with the rest. Now this distinction is a new innovation! I hope the children's mind does not get corrupted with thus new practice!

Spent our weekend inspecting the state of our roads with the District Roads Commitee Chaired by Hon. Otaala, Hon Angura, Deputy RDC and Secretary for Works Hon Molly and technical teams from thr District and UNRA. The roads are in a bad state.

Joined the District to celebrated belated Women's Day at Akadot Subcounty officiated by Hon. Hellen Asamo, Minister of State for PWD. Teenage pregnancy remains a challenge for the girl child. Also visited on Rock View Primary school amazing that the school has 1,900 pupils.

It was great flying with Uganda Airlines to Dar es Salaam with Captain Oloka a home boy as pilot. This should inspire more of our boys & girls to value Education. We need more pilots and many more engineers to man the Standard Gauge railway whose construction is due to commence.

The East African Parliamentary Games are going on well with Teams winning different sports. Ugandan women defeated Rwanda in the Tug of War. Happy to have led my team. We drew and lost to South Sudan in the extra round. Next we face TZ, Ke and EALA.

Today I tabled the Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Bill. Other than regulating the fertility Clinics the bill once passed into law will enable the public facilities like the Specialized Women's Hospital to provide the IVF services making services affordable.

Today I raised a petition on behalf of Women calling on Government to end the preventable maternal deaths at our Health facilities. Its unfortunate that mothers still die of preventable causes, and due to corruption by some healthworkers. Funding for health needs to be increased.

Today with some members of the Health Committe led by Dr. Ayume, we held a strategic meeting on how to integrate community health into the Parish Devt Model. Funding for VHTs and community health as a whole is crucial since the people cannot be productive if they are not healthy.

I have seen people circulating a video & claiming it is a school in Tororo district. Lets verify and get facts right before circulating fake news. According to the RDCs Office this incident happened 3 years ago in Tanzania. GOU is committed to building schools in a phased manner.

It was great joining people of Apetai Subcounty in Tororo to commemorate the Belated Women's day. The children raised challenges ranging from neglect by parents to lack of hygiene facilities at school. The State Minister for Fisheries Hon Adoa Hellen officiated at the event.

Today in parliament i raised the issue of Tutors who were redeployed following the phasing of Non Core Primary Teachers College but being paid shs.1m or less contrary to Establisment notice No.2 that provides for them to be paid as scientists.Hope the Ministers handle as pledged.
