Let’s take a poll of beef producers to see if they think their checkoff should fight fake meat!

@farm_smith @koinzangreg @RuskampSteve Early on, 80/90’s, I think producers were proud to see “Beef It’s What’s For Dinner” commercials and the push to ⬆️ per capita consumption of beef. But the checkoff has failed them as per capita consumption has ⬇️ in a larger market. And failure to fight against fake meat/imports

@JansenStuart @BeefCheckoff They already use checkoff $ to try. They’re setting up alternative collections in some states in case DOGE puts an end to the $1/head corruption.

@koinzangreg @RuskampSteve Working as a collection agency (livestock auction) for 26 years, I can’t say that we built any kind of a great relationship with the checkoff folks. But we damn sure got a call on day 1 if we were late with sending those $$ in!
