Turning down funding from CDC to discriminate against higher-risk groups for HIV testing, surveillance, and treatment would be an ungodly, despicable thing to do. Please do better, @BillLeeTN @GovBillLee @Alvarado4Senate 😑

Canada did this years ago! They spent a while getting people used to the idea, I remember the stores had signs for how rounding works for months, maybe even a whole year, before it was implemented
I do agree with the decision about the pennies. They are annoying and nobody needs them anymore.

Literally had to sign a piece of paper saying I'd treat my PhD as a full-time job and wouldn't/couldn't get any other employment without permission from PI, dean, etc
This is next-level ignorance. Graduate students in biomedical sciences have long received tuition plus a modest stipend to live on; otherwise only the wealthy who can afford to have no income and pay large sums for tuition for years could afford to get PhDs.

@WallaceUcsf Vanderbilt in TN was pretty high I believe, like 60-70% range or something. I don't know the exact amount and it's a bit confusing because there's the university and the medical center as separate entities so they prob have diff rates

@delayedprodigy @ivancalcantara is part of an auditorium named after a white male scientist (Jack Masur), whose portrait is behind a bit & to the left of the pic's POV as it hangs at the entrance to the auditorium. So really that whole area HAD representation of all genders & races...until now

It's been almost almost 8 years since I worked in Building 10, I used to walk that hallway every day. It's so sad that this is happening 😞
This hallway at the NIH used to have posters of women and POC scientists but they just got taken down. But somehow this MLK poster made the cut.

@delayedprodigy @ivancalcantara Don't worry, they have oil portraits spread around the entire building. Sometimes they still work there and you'll randomly run into the guy whose portrait you pass every day at the cafeteria or something

@HonkIfUrHoary First pic is Eufy, second is amcrest. I think amcrest has better zoom/staying zoomed, but Eufy can def see more (I cropped photo a bunch bc I didn't want to put like 3 rooms of our house on Twitter lol)

@focusfronting One guy at my childhood church gave a sermon about how female pheasants are very plain/drab to the point you could step on one and not notice & basically women should model that (bc misogyny) & not wear anything that makes them stand out. Anyway, this outfit is very pheasant 😬
