All Year 9 pupils are taking part in a #STEM event today. This is a design challenge, and its aim is to Nurture Sustainable Futures via STEM to inspire, engage and help young people learn about green careers. This reflect our community values. The project is called ‘Building Your Future’. It is a true collaboration project funded by Orsted via the East Coast Community Fund with National and Green Careers Week. We then cooperated closely with Liam Jackson from @Orsted to come up with a new design and build project and it is being delivered by our Careers Lead Mr Hoey today. Yesterday, we received an email from Ellie who is the fundraising assistant for the Movember campaign. Ellie said the following: "I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and your colleagues for your epic support in Movember last year. Your efforts in the workplace have truly helped to change the face of men’s health and have greatly supported our mission to help more men to live happier, healthier and longer lives." We were so proud that we raised £721 over the month of November. It was a great fun and a brilliant way to start a conversation about men's health. This afternoon, Year 9 pupils had a presentation courtesy of CJ from @franklingrimsby to show the facilities, courses and opportunities Franklin College has to offer, prior to our Year 9 options evening next week. Pupils were surprised by how many courses they could choose from and it gave them an idea as to what gcse grades they would need to move on to further education and beyond. Year 11 boys have been trialing a new fun way to revise for their mock Science exams with the help of a game. The group were healthily competitive and they were able to link together their cross topic knowledge.
