A huge thank you to @NealDonohoe and his team for making this happen. Today was Evie’s birthday. She was born with a hole in her heart. Evie loves the police so today these amazing officers came to wish her happy birthday. Met officers are the finest officers in the world!

As social media users prepare themselves to attack police officers once again, today we thank Romford Town Centre officers who yesterday removed a Samurai sword from a 16 year old boy without any regard for their own safety. They have saved lives let us remember that.

The officer is holding a toy machete found on a teenager last night in Romford. It is virtually impossible to tell the difference between a toy and a real weapon. The challenges officers face today alongside the shocking fact that teenagers are going out armed with toy machetes.

The distressing footage of today’s sword attack in Hainault shows the outstanding and remarkable bravery of our Police officers. Despite having a sword aimed at them, they arrested the suspect. We hope all those injured both members of the public and police make a full recovery.

@obbsie Firefighters and police officers went from fire to fire yesterday with NO respite in extreme heat. They were dehydrated, tired, and emotionally distraught to have to tell people their homes were ashes and they had lost everything. Any one who criticises them needs a reality check.

Whilst on patrol in #Barking, officers signalled a motorbike to stop. The rear passenger fled but was caught after a brief chase. Upon searching the man, knives were found on him and he was #arrested. Unfortunately, an officer was injured during the arrest. @HaveringDaily @BDPost

This morning alongside Councillor Sue Ospreay we were able to donate £560 to the Sensory Garden for the blind that has been subjected to repeated acts of vandalism. The garden is run by @havering_vc Shelly and her amazing volunteers.

Well done to @MPSHavering officer PC Kiddle who yesterday secured the Met Police’s first ever tree protection order felling case. Thanks to his hard work, the defendants were found guilty of deliberately destroying a protected tree. Great work 🙌🏻🌳.

We have worked many jobs with mounted branch officers and the officers and their horses are amazing. It’s great to see them out and about. For the record these horses are beautiful and many children love seeing them at events. All respect to our mounted branch officers.

Yesterday a teenager was stabbed in Havering-thanks to fast acting staff and the Daniel Baird bleed kit donated by the Ricky Hayden Memorial, the student’s life was saved. It is the relentless work by bereaved parents handing out endless bleed kits that are saving lives.

Constant references to '100's' of bad cops far outweigh the very occasional reference to the 1000's of good ones. Communication, as here & generally is woeful.

Yesterday was International Cat Day. Say hello to Defib, our station cat, he is well looked after by staff on our Whipps Cross complex, he enjoys sunning himself in the garden and in winter likes to snuggle on the warm car bonnets. He even has his own mural.
