A long duration snowstorm (about 36 hours) is about to begin in DC. That will make seasonal snowfall to date unbelievably lopsided in favor of DC over Boston, a very unusual occurrence. But, there is the “potential” of some snow accumulation in The Boston area next weekend #wcvb.

Interesting that we had significant snow in early December and accumulating snow in the 2nd half of April, while we had very little snow during winter itself. Something similar happened in the winter of 1981-1982. Just 2 big snowstorms. Dec.5-6 and April 6-7 #wcvb

Approximate snow accumulation areas. difficult to draw, let alone predict, because it ranged from a small amount of slush at Logan Airport to about a foot of snow as nearby as Lexington. Much of Middlesex and Worcester Counties received 10-20" of snow. #wcvb
