Judo is by *far* the least mysterious martial art. I swear it was invented in 1972 in Shrewsbury or something. It’s that *thock* sound; slamming down on the mat. It’s very ‘mats’; ‘put the mats away; get the mats from the cupboard; watch out for the edge of the mat’ etc.

@VHSRevival What I love about Charles Bronson is *every* line he delivers sounds slightly mad. He’s the least naturalistic actor of all time. So even if he’s ordering a coffee it sounds utterly bizarre. He has this staggeringly leaden awkwardness that transfers to immense charisma, somehow.
