@DrRyanWelage @AbudBakri You obviously have NO CLUE how UV-A sunlight works. And repeating what you read in a study or manual is NOT knowing. The mitochondria controls production of melanin which is directly from UV light. Also ADD on aromatic amino acids: tryptophan, tyrosine, phenylalanine & histidine.

Love the stack, but UVA doesn’t convert serotonin to melatonin - a lack of (mainly blue) light is what causes conversion of serotonin to melatonin (activates the transcription of the mRNA encoding the enzyme arylalkylamine N-acetyltransferase (AA-NAT), which is what actually converts serotonin to melatonin in the pinealocytes) In fact, UV-A light actually inhibits the conversion of serotonin to melatonin, as it inhibits expression of the AA-NAT enzyme. Don’t want anyone shining UVA light in their eyes at night thinking it converts serotonin to melatonin!
