Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Gypsy and Traveller communities are twice as likely to be depressed and are three times more likely to be anxious than others. Our casework indicates a disproportionately high prevalence of suicide among the communities we work with.(1/3)

🚨EMERGENCY ALERT TEST TOMORROW 🚨 The UK government will be running a National test of the Emergency Alerts system tomorrow, Sunday 7th September 2025 at 3pm. This system is used to warn if there’s danger to life nearby, including extreme weather.

With sites often located in places where other people would not be expected to live, such as near sewage works and flood plains, there is an increased need for insurance to protect against the high risks and impact of living there.

Attempts to take out insurance on mobile homes, caravans, contents, and vehicles registered to an address on a Gypsy and Traveller site more often than not results in refusal of cover, or disproportionately unaffordable premiums.
