The low-budget regional horror movie "The Deadly Spawn" (1983) is one of my favorites.
They worked miracles with a budget of only $25,000: the practical effects are very impressive.
Gothic Romances had great covers in the 70s, and some of the novels were pretty good as well, especially those with an emphasis on the Gothic.
