Since I created this account, the Greenwich lifts started getting fixed way quicker. Would recommend you create one for Woolwich :) having the dates displayed and tagging the people responsible always helps

Congratulations I’m delighted for you😂 Both lifts at Woolwich still out. North lift been out since November 2022. Yes. 20 Flipping 22.
North and South lift are still not working but the cherry on top of the cake is that the lights on the South stairs are also not working!! The
@Royal_Greenwich
wants you to go down the stairs in the dark apparently 🤯
With the lifts not working, there are about 15 bikes left on the tunnels.
@limebike
I understand it is hard to collect these bikes as there is no signal on the tunnel, but could we find a better solution for this issue?
Both lifts still out of service, the stairs are full of lime bikes and
@Royal_Greenwich
clearly using our council tax in ways that do not include wheelchair users or people who are not fit enough to carry their bikes, prams etc up and down those stairs.
@GreenwichLift
From all the 128 tweets I posted for far this year, only 34 times both lifts were working.
This is not a successful service or an inclusive one!!!!
The idea of waiting a few more years before looking for investment for new lifts is ridiculous!! We need better lifts now
'The strategy is proving successful with largely trouble-free service.'
This sentence is the biggest bs I heard this year!! The North Lift has been out of service since 8 May 2023!!
At this rate, the lifts will be out of service the whole week.
Also, just a quick reminder to take extra care when using the stairs! Without the lifts, people will be carrying their bikes and prams increasing the risk of accidents.
It’s also important to think about people that can’t walk. That was the whole point of this account bc while I can use the stairs when the lifts aren’t working, disabled people, families with small kids, and older people cannot.
@GreenwichLift
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate what a f-ing joke it is that these accounts need to exist due to lack of proper investment in enabling people who want to walk from one side to the other freely and yet another monster tunnel is being built with zero walking facility…
When your a wheelchair user on a 50km pavement Marathon and you need to cross the Thames from Greenwich to the Isle of Dogs and you take a gamble and win!
@GreenwichLift
That's the whole point of this account. As an able-bodied person I can always find a way around, but a disabled person wouldn't be able to use the tunnels without the lift
@Royal_Greenwich
Unless both lifts are working, I can’t use the foot tunnel to get my e-bike over the river (too heavy). Same applies for people with pushchairs and wheelchair users. Come on
@Royal_Greenwich
- what’s your plan to sort this out?
Signs are not always right! While the sign says one of the lifts is not working, both are working.
Before using the stairs, I recommend always checking the lifts!
If you can't make out what this sign at the Greenwich foot tunnel says: top: SOUTH LIFT NOT IN SERVICE; bottom: NORTH LIFT NOT IN SERVICE. Both lifts not working for over a week now; the North lift for who knows how long? I've lost count.
