This post is lacking context here. Ppl love to say that the city of Detroit is messed up because it’s majority Black. But Black ppl didn’t set up its pension system, Black ppl didn’t set up the city charter and the tax system. Also, Black ppl didn’t make the decision to center…

"This is not the white people fault, ya'll don't take care of your sh*t. Black people need to stop living in denial." Black man drops hard pills as he tours the black area of Detroit:

The economics of the city on only ONE industry. Black ppl didn’t make any of these decisions. Detroit, like other rust belt cities felt the economic impact of manufacturing jobs being outsourced overseas, and how it dealt a major hit to blue collar workers. Not Blk occupancy.

The problems of cities like Detroit existed long before Blk ppl came along and increased their numbers in such places. Nobody thought to replace those manufacturing jobs because nobody cared. Detroit is a case study in Blk ppl inheriting issues that white ppl have left behind.

Do not think for a second that the conditions of cities with majority Blk populations like Detroit is just because of them, they are political. During reconstruction, states were given money & grants to build & improve living conditions. But the ppl giving the funds were white…

And thus, more economic opportunities were given where the race/ethnic majority in places was white, so they had more opportunities to stabilize their communities, which ultimately left Black ppl & their communities with little to nothing.

I don’t remember where I read it, but it was said that about 50% of white households today are products of the homestead act, which black ppl were excluded. Factor in red lining, the loss of land, employment & compensation disparities…you’re competing against the government.

The craziest thing about this discussion is that you have black people fighting harder to prove and validate her blackness than she will advocate for black people specifically if elected. That’s the disconnect for some, I’d imagine.

I can’t take these online so-called “anti imperialist” Blacks thinking they’re holier than thou b/c they don’t wave the American flag, when many of them travel, work, or live in the states. Many of them have family who pledged allegiance to that flag in a naturalization ceremony.

So, I ended up quitting my job. Tired of the environment & felt like I got all I could get in my role there. I can get more money doing the same thing in other places. Definitely interested in what the future has in store for me.

Beyond tired of you celebrity negores with an identity crisis going on trips to Africa to “find yourself” or to attempt to fill the “gaps” in your identity, whatever that means. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Being in Ghana opened my eyes to who I was! Unless you are a Native American, your roots are NOT here and it’s perfectly natural and liberating to embrace that!

@Dknight10k Translation: “I am a COWARD, and I’m too scared to fight for justice for my people and a better future for my children...because I don’t wanna piss off the political establishment.”

While people are talking about vaccines with covid, and mention Tuskegee, I’ve seen that there was an “apology” 👀🙄 offered to survivors of those wicked experiments, but has any financial redress been paid??

I want to know how you can empower someone living in abject poverty with just financial literacy. Alone. No money. Just the info. I wanna see a financial literacy advocate turn a minimum wage into six figures. Any takers?? Lol

@janecoaston One of your colleagues already got the scoop on ADOS years ago. It looks like you’ve got some catching up to do.

I don’t know where you get this crap from. The fact that any Black American is living after the TAST is nothing short of a miracle. Given this rhetoric, you should be relieved that most Black Americans either pity Africa/Africans, or seek a connection with it & its people.

If Black Americans had the Power, they would treat Africans the way white Americans treated their ancestors. Disgusting bunch.

@BabaDrObaTShaka This sounds like we have to identify as African to ingratiate ourselves in order to garner favor from the real Africans (ones born & raised on the continent, or the offspring of African parents). This reinforces the African hierarchy, & reduces African autonomy. This is unhelpful
