This is quite close to the @shaunmicheelpga hole location. We tried to keep it intact…even though the green moved right and extended back. Tomorrow should be a great day @PGAChampionship

Amen-if players want shorter shots into greens/faster pace of play, more forward tees are easy to build. Who says you have to play 6500 yds. Architects have been asking for a sustainable path w/equipment for 100 yrs. Golf is a game that asks you many questions, not just distance.
I don’t understand the anger about the golf ball roll back. It will make no difference whatsoever to the average golfer and puts golf back on a path of sustainability. It will also help bring back certain skills in the pro game that have been eradicated over the past 2 decades.

Scioto has been revealing itself in meaningful ways. The dirt just seems to work. Uncovering it’s past with an eye to the future has been a tremendous honor! The once famed 17th was lost in the 1960’s.

The new 10th on The New Blue was a hole I saw on my first walk of the course after I was hired. A short 3 that helped make the transition from 9 to 11 more fluid, made a thoughtful hole w/o a forced carry, and created a downhill shot that wasn’t available on the previous layout.

A great deal was written by Ross, Flynn, MacKenzie, Macdonald, Colt, Simpson, Thomas, etc about the value of width, topography, strategy, and unique design elements. There are clearly more ways to test the best than length with narrow fwys/deep rough. These guys got it.

The Second Green @Inverness_Club was replicated with laser survey tech 100 yards behind its original location. It was amazing to have the two greens in place at one time - we could walk between the two to review characteristics. Once in place we restored it shape and size.

Ross used the ground so well at Seminole. incredible variety on a wonderful property. Primary dune, secondary dune, and the low in between. If you want to understand the brilliance of a golf course routing. this is it.

The @InvernessClubGS members were beyond supportive as we accomplished a lot of work and they continued to play. Some days were tough but we managed to keep a majority of the golf course open with thoughtful planning. Many thanks to the team that made it possible.

What an honor to start the Master Plan at Concord Country Club outside of Boston with @peterjrappoccio. Ross worked on this property at least 3 times. 1913, 1921, & 1928!

The 5th @InvernessClubGS was built over the old irrigation pond on the previous 3rd green. Since we needed water for the project, we had to anticipate the approach grades and tees until the new pond came online. It was modeled after Ross’ 13th-that was removed decades prior

It has taken a long time to get to this point @usnagolf . Lots of daydreaming becoming reality! The par 4,10th is coming to life. Decades ago the bunkers were filled in or edges grassed over. Reconnecting the bunkering to the original "pad" is one of our main goals.
