Call out/cancel culture is insidious because it makes the entire act transactional. It conflates educating an ignorant person in a single moment with publicly humiliating someone for brownie points/prestige from the "good side" in perpetuity.

Help your friends get off drugs, cut back drinking, stop smoking cigs, lose weight, exercise, express themselves, talk through what they’re scared about, work through what they’re dealing with, talk less shit, do more, laugh more, & love more. We need each other’s help to survive

Blake Griffin and his brother Taylor were a sight to see in high school. They put everyone in Oklahoma on notice how big the gap was to get to the league. Alley oops to each other for breakfast, lunch, and dinner over 2A High School kids from towns called Hobart and Okemah.

5 weeks after this, KD came to our Dom Kennedy show. Afterwards, he had some of us over to his new studio. As the night ended, Kevin made sure that my friend & I each grabbed a Rucker (Route) 66 on the way out.
He supported us, welcomed us into his home, & treated us like peers.
It's been ten years since Kevin Durant pulled up to Rucker Park and dropped 66 points 🍿

- water intake
- amount of sleep
Does it solve everything? Hell no. But it’s a much bigger start than you might believe + it starts putting the pieces together to enhance your discipline.

I truly miss playing NCAA football only to rename all of the players with a mix of me, my brother & friends’ names, & favorite rappers. Rick Ross, Birdman, Fat Joe, E40, & Twista were an amazingly cohesive offensive line. Ludacris was the best slot receiver in OU history.
