This is major BS. So, the CFP committee has just stated that even if JMU becomes eligible for post season play due to not enough 6-6 teams, they STILL won't be considered for the New Years 6 Bowls. That seems vindictive and cruel for no reason.
College Football Playoff spokesperson says JMU will not be considered for a New Years 6 bowl, regardless of Dukes' bowl status via a lack of otherwise eligible teams. This runs counter to what both JMU & SBC sources told me they believed was the case earlier this week.
