NCTD welcomes U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on COASTER today. The Secretary will be riding with Rep. Levin, NCTD, state and local reps. The LOSSAN Corridor is of national importance for the movement of freight and passengers, and for our nation’s defense.
Today marks 28 years in service for COASTER! February 27, 1995, COASTER service commenced with 6 morning trains and 6 evening trains. 28 years later, COASTER runs 30 daily trips weekdays with 2 added trips Fridays, and 20 daily weekend trips between Oceanside and San Diego!
NCTD receives $29.3M from the FTA’s Low or No Emission Vehicle grant program to purchase 23 zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell electric buses. The award includes funding to train NCTD's workforce and develop an apprenticeship program with Palomar College.

were awarded a $100 million grant from the State of California Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program to advance the San Dieguito Bridge Replacement and Double Track Project and Special Events Platform at the Del Mar Fair. for more.
NCTD is excited to partner with West Village Partners and Raintree Partners for the redevelopment of the Carlsbad Village and Poinsettia Transit Stations. These partnerships are the first step in transforming the stations into engaging mobility hubs.

Sorrento Valley COASTER commuters can now stay dry on the west side of the tracks too! During the rail closure last weekend, multiple shelters were installed—a welcome addition to many commuters on this rainy day.
