My local town centre used to have stores like M&S, Debenhams and Game. Now it’s vape shops, pound shop, a job centre and mobile repair shops. The decline of the high street isn’t talked about enough.

“Everyone keeps saying this street’s dying — it’s no dying, it’s the best it’s been since Covid.” Since the 1970s, successive generations have declared Sauciehall Street destroyed. Current prognosis isn't great. But is a phoenix-like revival on the cards?
