I hope the
@steelers
will reach out to all of the players who were in Florida to work out together and offer support and grief counseling. They're going to need help.
It says A LOT about how the fans feel about
@Bud_Dupree
that the Steelers just won and are 11-0 for the first time in franchise history and oh by the way just knocked the Ravens out of contention for the AFC North title...and we're all just completely bummed out.
Serious question...
What can a defender legally do in this situation other than just stand there and watch the WR land on the ground and then tag him down?
Personally, I think Brandon Aiyuk has played this perfectly. He used the Browns and Patriots to confirm his market value, and he found a viable new home in Pittsburgh, whose offer isn't quite good enough for the 49ers.
Now he just sits and waits until the 49ers give him what he
As much as I joke about AB, I absolutely agree that he is one of the greatest WRs in Steelers history and maybe in the NFL.
But a 1 day contract to retire with his former team is a privilege and honor that he no longer deserves based on the way he has behaved.
Right now, I'm not really thinking about the playoffs for the Steelers. I just really want to see
@_BigBen7
beat the Browns and the Ravens in his final two games.
So it seems that Ian Rapoport had the story as well and chose to wait until the Steelers reported it. Kudos to him for showing respect for the gravity of the situation.
Teams don't have a way to stop TJ Watt. So the plan is for the OL to hold him until it gets called by the official. And when it doesn't get called, they do it the whole game.
For all yinz who are looking back at the Cowher era wistfully and ready to kick Tomlin out of Pittsburgh, here are their stats:
Cowher regular season 149-90-1
Cowher playoffs 12-9
Cowher Superbowl 1-1
Tomlin regular season 152-84-2
Tomlin playoffs 8-8
Tomlin Superbowl 1-1
It's clear the Steelers made a mistake letting Mike Hilton leave in free agency but I would argue that missing AluAlu and Tuitt up front is the bigger issue and one the Steelers haven't had an answer for.
Cam Heyward has been Superman but he can't do it alone.
Don't get distracted by shiny things. It's very simple:
The Steelers should not draft a QB in the first round if he isn't definitely going to be better than Mitch Trubisky.
So if Tom Brady does wind up retiring, Ben Roethlisberger won the final round. Only one QB controlled his narrative and broke the news himself in the way he wanted to.
When Ben Roethlisberger went on IR, I think a lot of Steelers fans lowered their expectations. That doesn't mean we can't enjoy the season and what this incredible defense is accomplishing. Every win counts. Style points don't win a Superbowl (the
@NFL
proved that last year).
It is so so so ridiculous that some members of the Pittsburgh media think dancing and Tik Tok is a crime.
Me? I love that my Steelers are doing that in their free time and playing video games and working out and volunteering not getting arrested or stabbed in bars on Carson St.
At whatever point the Steelers season ends, Omar Khan should offer Mason Rudolph a multi-year deal and a chance to compete for the 2024 starting job in training camp.
Man, Steelers twitter is sad right now. I'm not. It was a ridiculous season from an injury standpoint. The team could have easily given up early on but fought hard every week and gave us all something to be excited about. I appreciate that.
#Steelers
fans are lucky.
Yes, Lamar Jackson is an incredible athlete. But people seem to be forgetting that he had 3 INTs against the
#Steelers
this season (QBR 20) and was bailed out by his defense in OT. The Ravens are impressive, no doubt, but they're beatable.
I am and have been a fan of Mike Tomlin. But at this point, he seems to be losing not just the locker room but the fanbase as well with his approach.
Adding padded practices isn't the change that will solve the problems this Steelers team has.
I love
@CamHeyward
.
He's everything you could wish for in a player, leader, teammate and a member of the community.
@CharHeyward
you must burst with pride every day ❤
For those of us who watched Terry Bradshaw win games on a black and white TV as kids, it's crazy to see all these "Ben has been the QB since I was 8" tweets.
What if -- and I'm just spitballing here -- TJ Watt and the Steelers are really close to finalizing his contract extension and he and his agent don't want him to risk injury until the ink is dry and Tomlin is ok with that which is why TJ isn't participating in team drills?
The Steelers and the Patriots have the same record (1-3) and have scored the same number of points (74 in 4 games).
Funny how NE isn't considered nearly as disappointing a team.
Highsmith worked all off-season and training camp to earn his role as a starter.
Ingram worked hard to rehab his injuries and has great talent.
The Steelers coaches thought rotating all 3 OLBs gave the team their best chance to win.
It's a shame Ingram doesn't see it that way.
Let me say this loud enough for folks sitting in the back:
THE PLAYER IS NOT THE BAD GUY IN A CONTRACT NEGOTIATION!!!
The NFL is a business. That applies to the team AND the player. Which is exactly why it's called a negotiation.
So Diontae skipped a voluntary team activity?
Before you get all twisted, why not check how many other players skipped it too?
Did TJ Watt skip it last year?
Breathe, people.
@Juiceup__3
is one of the hardest working players on the Steelers. It's fine.
A HIPAA violation occurs when a treating clinician or other unrelated medical specialist shares a patient's medical information without permission.
That's it. Asking someone a question about his or her health is not covered by the HIPAA Act.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
It actually doesn't matter if I think the Steelers can go in to Arrowhead and beat the Chiefs.
It only matters if Mike Tomlin and his players do.
(Spoiler alert: they most certainly do...which is enough for me to like their chances)
If the Steelers and Bills situations were reversed (Steelers on a roll with a fantastic team/record, favored to win by 2 TDs), Steelers fans would be preparing themselves for a hideous let-down game.
They are currently hyping themselves for a big upset win.
I love yinzers.
Here's a crazy idea: The Bengals aren't as good as they looked on Sunday and the Steelers aren't as bad as they looked on Sunday. We're only 3 weeks into this thing.
#AnyGivenSunday
I'm not going to speculate on what happened to Damar Hamlin. But if the medical team got his pulse back and the ambulance crew was able to wait for his family to join him, I take that as a good sign.
Shame on
@MaryKayCabot
who continues to push a false narrative about
@CamHeyward
. As a reporter, she should be barred from the media session before the next
#Steelers
#Browns
game if she's going to double down on lies.
Remember when Boz was going through a rough patch, most likely due to some nagging injuries but also some mental stuff? And how we're so lucky he's our kicker still?
Just wondering if Devin Bush is in a similar situation. And it's much more obvious without Tuitt, Alualu and VW.
Steelers' OLBs not just making an impact in the pass game. Melvin Ingram shedding the LT, forcing the RB to bounce to his right. Ingram's run defense was excellent all summer. Carried over to Sunday.

Some Monday morning optimism for Steelers fans:
Yes, the Steelers were all-around awful yesterday (with the exception of TJ Watt and Anthony McFarland) in their 30-7 loss to the 49ers.
But the season is long and Week 1 doesn't definitely tell you what this team will be.
In
This is such a pathetic move by Stefanski. If he wanted to lay that story to rest, he wouldn't march Myles Garrett out there for the coin toss. The Browns are fighting for a playoff spot and that should be all the motivation they need. Very lame by the Browns HC.
Kevin Stefanski says Myles Garrett will be the
#Browns
game captain this week. Says it’s “a big game” and he’s “the big guy” and it has nothing to do w/ the helmet swinging incident vs the
#Steelers
and Mason Rudolph a year ago.
Notice that literally no one is talking about Boswell. He has been quietly solid and back to his old self, it seems.
You know what they say about the only time they show special teams plays on highlights...
I'd have preferred if Mike Tomlin just said, "You know what? Our play-calling is terrible but I was told we're stuck with Matt Canada for the rest of the season."
The explanations for the poor play and failures last Sunday and the comments he gave today about what changes they
This is a bit of an exaggeration. Every time a Steelers player was asked, they said what a great teammate and locker room presence
@LeVeonBell
was. No one ever doubted his drive or in-game commitment. They just wanted him to join them last season. Or at least respond to texts.
Here’s one thing I gotta say. There was a lot of talk before we signed Le’Veon about what kind of guy he was. The media painted him out to be a horrible person, bad teammate, lazy player, but I can’t tell you enough how first class of a teammate he’s been. Real one!
Imagine if Garrett had seriously injured Mason Rudolph. Could easily have caused a concussion, a neck/spinal injury, or permanent vision loss.
Myles Garrett shouldn't play another snap this season.
Has anyone else noticed how quiet the
#Steelers
have been on social media in the past 24h? I think this team is totally focused and has committed to
#ShutOutTheNoise
.
#HereWeGo
Weird that Tomlin would bench his starting QB and not the WR who allegedly started the fight.
Just saying.
I believe Diontae and Mitch argued but I don't believe that's why Keny Pickett started after halftime.
Time to step back from the ledge:
The
#Steelers
are 11-3.
They won the
#AFCN
and will host a playoff game at home.
AB didn't break his leg.
Bell didn't tear his knee up last week.
Ben has been balling out.
JuJu is on fire.
Deep breaths,
#SteelersNation
.
This is so silly. NO ONE in Pittsburgh doubted Bell's talent or what he contributed to the team. The Steelers didn't want to pay him a WR salary (what he wanted), so he left as a free agent. Oh by the way, the Jets paid him as an RB.
"I'm thinking I'm going to show everybody. I'm going to show people that, look, Pittsburgh had something special and they let it go. That's what I'm going to go out there and do." --
