@TrevorFarrell12 As a fox- their entire existence is based on survival - those that didn't suckle didnt survive. Theyre bred to survive. We breed cows for traits such as milk production and other survival traits are less likely to be selected for

@MjScallan When leaving calf with dam to suckle the expectation is -dam has high quality & quantity colostrum -dam allows calf to suckle enough -calf can get up quickly & find udder & suckle enough from a clean udder ..thats a lot of expectations for passive transfer
