So for what it's worth, I have a Switch. I also run Yuzu. I buy the games I emulate.
But the Switch itself is just a really poor experience, especially in comparison. The handheld ergonomics are awful, and the framerates are bad. It was (usually) okay in 2017! But not in 2024.

I'm curious to see what the successor looks like, but the Zelda piracy fiasco aside this feels like Nintendo trying to save face by stamping out a legitimately better experience that they don't currently provide.

Welp - Super Robot Wars 4 is now beatable in English, end to end, more or less. There's still a fair bit to do - the script edit notwithstanding, the karaoke mode and stage names need hacking, name entry is still a little busted, and there's a smattering of bugs. But, progress.

So it looks like the tool I've been working on for the last four weeks or so to decompile and recompile Star Ocean: Blue Sphere's map data (with the primary goal of making the primary dialog text easily editable as a consequence) is fully functional. Font and text not final.

Localization lesson here w/apologies to Kimimi for hijacking this. This is a shark. It's white. The katakana literally reads "White Shark" so, what do you translate it as? Literalists would have to go with "White Shark", but no. This is a "Great White." THAT is localization.

Word on the street has it that Trials of Mana is in fact a fully-hacked SNES ROM, though they've apparently expanded it to 48mbit to fit the translation in.

I remember nagging the SNES9X dev team when I was a teen in the late 90s to get Front Mission: Gun Hazard fixed because "RPGe would be done with the translation soon." And fix it they did.
Of course RPGe vanished pretty soon thereafter, but I like to think I made good on that.

Huge props to everyone who tested the patch over the last couple of months. If there are any major issues keeping the game from being playable (whether in an emulator or via a flashcart like the SD2SNES) (there shouldn't be) I'm around today to provide a fix.
