Locked in for four hours finding clips and images for the video I'm working on and I still got a way to go
This is why finding assets will always be my least favorite part
Are you in a creative block or interested in a style you haven't seen before?
Hopefully this is a useful thread for you as I'm going to share some of my influences and inspirations for video editing🧵
Random thought: I'm always surprised that more editors don't @ or call out clients who scam or disrespect them
We should be supporting each other as a community and sharing names of people to avoid (imo)
Thank you all for 500 followers
Making the choice to edit full time since I graduated is quite scary but the support and encouragement on this app makes it worth it
Don't like making posts like this but I'm genuinely curious
Do editors with a huge following that never post their work and only post engagement bait get inbound leads from that?
Updates on my outreaching journey:
- Thought w my new work I'd have better luck trying stuff on ytjobs & discord. I was wrong 😅
- Made a spreadsheet of YTers I want to work with using playboard
New clients atm: 0
What would you suggest I do differently?
After this video I've decided it would be better for the sake of my computer to actually do stuff in Premiere rather almost everything in AE 😅
95 Linked Comps 🤦♂️
Might as well add to the hundreds of other editors posting these 😅
I appreciate everyone I've met on this journey whether they're on this circle or not
Nothing too crazy but finally used motion tracking since I never really have to use it for the vid doc niche
May or may not of helped get around copyright 😅
Love trying something new in every single video

"I got scammed for $400 dollars by this guy who dmed me"
whole time they're dming a bunch of other people and no one knows they're a scammer. ill never get it
Before and after for a potential client, they wanted something very simple
- Added a short intro as a hook
- Added B-roll where I thought was necessary
- Added subtle zooms
The editing timeline for Dua Lipa's "Dance The Night" music video by Vinnie Hobbs
Feel like I rarely see "professional" timelines in premiere so this was a cool find
Next week is the last week of school (and my last week of school ever) so a lot of the editing I've been doing has been for class recently
Here's the final timeline for a trailer I made for our end of semester screening
About 60 AE comps in here, photoshop deleting my folder of files randomly, and my PC overheating but the vid is finished 😅
Gotta just keep going sometimes lol
