On Aug. 7, 1990, President George H. W. Bush ordered Operation Desert Shield in response to Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait. The buildup of combat power marked the beginning stages of the Gulf War. We thank all Gulf War and Operation Desert Shield Veterans for their service!

@1kwok74105 Here is an interesting take on indirect costs. 50% is not unusual and really depends on the university. Varies widely. I'm not a researcher so I just don't know.

@1kwok74105 Every NIH program should be reviewed to make sure its an efficient and useful research program. My view is don't defund or pause research unless a review has been done that found something unusual.
