A chancellor suddenly retires.
A president suddenly goes to Ohio State.
An AD, who was the PERFECT CHOICE to navigate the ever-changing landscape of college athletics suddenly leaves in a lateral move.
Something isn't right at the very top at NU.

Mickey Joseph has an intense, no-BS approach to coaching, and it's clearly worked in the WR room. Applewhite appears to do the same, and we've seen the evidence: Grant & Allen. If MJ is not the choice after 2022, I pray the next HC keeps both of them...and Busch.
Stretch Period Standouts
Dylan & Heinrich are next-level athletic.
Rahmir looks jacked. Emmett looks like a coiled spring. OL looks nimble and light on their feet.
And Fidone? HOLY SH**!
Was about to leave work when

walks in to go play golf with the Nebraska Women’s team. Pure class act. Thanks for agreeing to this picture, KT!

Been on the ol' Twitterverse since July talking Husker football and sharing our podcast. My tweets go largely unnoticed. Not a complaint or a whine. Just a reality. I tweet about the Volleyball team taking mighty Wisconsin to 5 sets, and I get 200 likes. Lol

GEN RED POST-VIEW:
Last night, 5-star phenom Dylan Raiola led the Huskers onto the field for the Big Red Preview practice, where he took all the first team reps in each team competition period. Even to my untrained eye, there's no doubt that he is the best of all the QBs. His
1) This staff is fearless in recruiting.
2) In spite of their on-field inexperience, they've won over some DUDES.
3) Ajay Allen and Anthony Grant still in the fold is HUGE
4) If they get Dylan, I may have to go to the ER cuz of that 4 continuous hour erection thing... 😳😂
So if I’m reading Husker Twitter right, unless the new HC is Saban, Swinney or Meyer, most of Husker Nation will be underwhelmed by the hire Trev will make in a couple weeks.
Can’t we all just trust that Trev has been working non stop since Sept to get the right guy?
@HuskGuys
One score losses wasn't the entire Frost narrative. But I get it. Tonight we saw a 3rd consecutive loss with an offense down 7 starters and a defense full of inexperience. The present is painful, but I believe the future is bright.
You know it’s bad when I’m literally not mad right now. What’s the point in getting upset? We are what we are. They’re ranked
#2
and we haven’t had a winning season or been to a bowl game since 2016.
Dr. Tom: "I hear your OC wants to huddle on offense, Matt."
Coach Rhule leans in and whispers:
"We WILL huddle, Coach...with a fullback on the field too!"
Got called a snowflake by a YouTube viewer because I don't want Urban Meyer. Then was told unless I have no skeletons, I can't judge.
Nothing like guilt-shaming to try and win a debate. Didn't work. Still don't want Urban, and I have a LOT of skeletons y'all ain't ever seeing.😜
Wherever Raiola goes, we need to relax NU fans. If I were him, I’d look hard at UGA too. Unless he gets 7 figures in NIL and a guarantee to be the starter, I just don’t see him in Husker red. I doubt Rhule promises that. + He decommitted from OSU cuz they recruited a QB for ‘23.
This is Chip, our family dog. We have to say good bye to this sweet face today. He’s no longer eating and his body isn’t responding to his meds anymore. We will miss you buddy. Please pray for comfort for him, and for us. We are hurting, and at the vet now. 😭
My read on Rhule keeping Raiola on staff:
1) His philosophy fits into what Rhule wants to do.
2) Discipline: 2022 OL improved their overall penalty #’s by 42%.
3) Young and hungry
4) Can’t judge a coach on one season after taking over a room needing improved development.
LPD press conference will be this morning at 9. I know we probably won't learn anything new, but…
After sleeping on the news from yesterday, my prayer is that all the facts will eventually come to light. Hopefully sooner rather than later, for all involved.
One of those plays you'll never forget because of its importance, but also because of its meaning to our family. It was the last game we got to watch on TV with my father in law, before cancer took him Home on Dec 23, 2008.

Someone forgot to tell Coach Rhule that Georgia-level talent doesn't want to play at Nebraska. Before NIL and the portal, that might have been true. But now? Rhule knows that winning with transfer talent now would go a long way toward getting even better talent out of HS later.
Certainly wouldn't hurt to add more depth. It's a curiosity that he didn't respond to Mickey's coaching, but I'd certainly be happy to see him back. As a developmental staff, I could see him flourish if he's willing to be molded.
Practice? We talkin' 'bout PRACTICE?!? Ya damn right we are! GO BIG RED!!!

Welcome to the B1G to USC and UCLA, and any other Pac 12 schools who decide to join us. Your reward will be more TV revenue than you can imagine, and a schedule that includes Ohio State for 8 out of your first 11 years. That's what happened to NE, so it's only frickin' fair!
Just saw a video of Coach Hoiberg being informed by his wife and kids that he has won the Jim Phelan National COY. His reaction? Calm, cool and devoid of emotion.
So I'm sorry, but I gotta ask:
Is Coach a Terminator?
Holy sh** and hallelujah! That’s 2 straight second half shutouts by…what? The defense? The Blackshirts?!? I don’t know what to think. That’s also 2 straight games that the defense gave up less than 100 yards. But damn. My heart can’t take much more! Lol
Max Duggan…yet another top notch QB that NU let get away. Then again, a prior staff with it’s 70-year-old Harry Potter lookalike cigar chomper as QB coach likely ruins his game.
Finally, everything is done! No more cameras on tripods on the floor. No more studio lights on stands taking up even more floor space. All 3 cameras, a webcam, and 4 lights are mounted to the walls. Minimal visible cords or cables.
Damn, I...am...gooooood. Lol.

Need I go on?
1) Hey Panther fans, since you seem to have this unnatural hard-on for Coach Rhule, how about asking Dolphin fans about Saint Nick? Or Jaguars fans about Urban? Two of the best CFB coaches to ever do it sucked in The League. Most CFB coaches don’t work out there.
QB Chad Henne retired last night after a 15-year NFL career, $40 million in career earnings and the same number of Super Bowl rings as John Elway, Peyton Manning, Bart Starr & Roger Staubach.
Legend. 🍺
As a man who’s first instinct is to be judgmental and harsh, my heart is broken for everyone involved in these allegations. Everyone. But no matter what, I will NEVER condone putting hands on a woman/child and I can’t imagine the pain in his home & that locker room right now. 🙏
Day 1 waking up without the little furball here was um...interesting. No tail-wagging, tap-dancing the front paws greeting as I came downstairs. But also no gut-wrenching coughs or whining sounds with every breath from the pain he knew 24/7. Relieved for him. Hurting for us.
These are the moments when the game we all love so much and it's fandom and team loyalty matter none at all. My heart aches for Damar Hamlin and his family. Prayers for him and for all the medical workers trying to help him. May God be with them and through them all.
We Husker fans have long lamented losing out on QBs like Joe Burrow or Max Duggan. But I have to wonder: would they have been as good at Nebraska with someone like Verduzco coaching them for 3 or 4 years and then 1 year of Whipple?
It's not every day that you get to meet a Husker (and podcasting) hero, so thanks for taking the pic with me

@huskerfan10935
Trusting the Rhule process includes understanding that this is exactly his process. New, hungry, young, teachable coaches to implement his system. He did the same at Temple & Baylor. Asking him to change his process because we're Nebraska and he should do it different is...wrong.
I am excited to announce I am a Cornhusker! Although there were great things about all of my top three schools, I firmly believe in what is being built by Coach Rhule and his staff. I want to thank everyone who has helped me and made this process special. God bless and GBR!! 🌽🎈

I don’t think so. His offenses ranked around

in the NCAA in turnovers lost over his two seasons at South Carolina.

BS, Stark. Nobody wants to work for THIS BoR. If you've run three leaders out of town in 15 months, then I don't blame qualified candidates for telling you no.
Took this screenshot from a drone video I saw a few weeks ago. Not sure why I’m sharing it now, except to say maybe we should just let the sun set on the past and look toward the new dawn. Spring football isn’t far away…

@HuskersMN
Pure class move. I appreciate his desire to win, while also not tossing former staff under the bus. The fan base is good enough at that already.
Today will be a uniquely different GameDay experience for me. About 45 minutes from now, my wife and I will head to Omaha to pick up my cousin Janelle and her husband Chuck, who are flying in from Pennsylvania for their first ever trip to Nebraska. Although they are Penn State
Husker Nation and the entire football world has lost a great one. Dahrran Diedrick was a great player and even greater man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends🙏🙏🙏RIH and fly high, D😢
You have to feel for the Reimers, Robinson’s and Henrichs’ of this team. They’ve all played good football at Nebraska only to watch their assorted offenses over the years do nothing to help them. I know it’s Year One, but damn…these defenders deserve some Ws.
