It’s the pressure from film studios, Black’s top level agents etc. he has future Jumanji sequels etc. that likely knee jerked at the statement he’s associated with and the political move is to withdraw. You are right - an apology and move along seems more fair.
What might surprise people is that all of the flashbacks was an afterthought. We wrapped production and during editing our distributor asked a scene to kick of the movie with the girls before they were dirty & maimed. That opportunity triggered an idea to add more!

I am overwhelmed at the

How did we get our indie film trailer to over 9M views on YouTube alone? Some might think Universal releasing the film did it but reality is they didn’t lift a finger. It was all us, the filmmakers, who rallied every blog, movie site, etc to push
Was given the opportunity to hold a grail: The Rocketeer’s helmet. Fun fact: I once horrible embarrassed myself in front of Billy Campbell when my wife was working with him.
All of the flashbacks were were filmed over a day and a half. The cast watched the Oscars together the night before and then shot rapid pace. Brandon was never part of the movie in person until these flashbacks were added.

Everyone’s answer here is incorrect. It has to do with the tech and farming sectors and if the entertainment sector is given a credit, they would have to match it for the others and nothing could sustain that in CA. (Very basic surmising of the reasoning).
Oh boy, Star Wars Twitter tonight is gonna be a shit-show. Remember people - muting and blocking people is an excellent path to being a Jedi and not stoking the attention negative people crave.

The difference is Tom is also a producer - active producer - and receives payment that way and control of the franchise and sequels and spin offs.
After questioning the Tribeca decision to include generative A.I. films as part of their programming this year, I’ve been invited to speak on the radio about it tomorrow.
I've not known this feeling before: when a film project just goes so smooth, massive talents keep attaching and wanting to be a part of it and opportunities beyond my imagination and expectations keep unfolding before we've even shot!
Just fucking write. Write it and make your story and characters great. All formatting can be changed later. I read a screenwriting book in the 90’s and pretty much have stuck to whatever that told me. I’m probably terrible at structure if things have evolved but I get read, I get
Yea, this! The problem w/ Screenwriting advice on Twitter is everyone gives it from their OWN experience & depending on where their career is & what medium & who reps 'em & what that specific scripts purpose is, theyre very diff experiences! So they may be Right but wrong for YOU
And no sooner do I exit one project and another gets the go-ahead today - sure, they aren't the same, but I'm damned excited to have something else in the cannon - a trilogy of storytelling music videos. The artist is massive!
Was given a key to the city. Never could I ever have predicted making indie films I care about and working with creative friends could lead to something like this.
NO ONE SHOULD SUPPORT TRIBECA DOING THIS. No one who cares about the future of human made art. If this slides by without massive backlash, the floodgates are open.
Ok people, tell me generative AI won’t take filmmaking jobs again now Lionsgate has a deal with Runway AI. This isn’t going to stop and it is only going to speed up.
@LukeBarnett
No way! Not the same James Hunter who claims he made the first Star Wars fan film clearly ignoring Hardware Wars made when he was an infant. Not the James Hunter who credits his extra work as a character role on Maxxxine. He couldn’t be lying!
Shooting a scene tonight for my sci-fi feature I've been chipping away at. Every single shoot just makes me more and more excited about what we are creating.

My mom died when I was 17. I only have a handful of pictures and zero videos of her. A couple years ago, on my birthday, I got a text from a number I didn’t recognize. It simply said “happy birthday” with a YouTube link. I clicked it and my heart stopped. It was my mom.

Hi. Gavin here. I make lots of budget range films but still love making microbudget for all my small indies o know finances wont feel ‘safe’ making.
UPDATE: Could not have gone any better. (also I just heard "any better" in my head as "Eddie Vedder" as I typed. I could enjoy all of my pitches going Eddie Vedder in the future... like just, y'know.. any even... flow...
Pitch meeting in 45 minutes so of course I’m on Twitter instead of reviewing and rehearsing. Always been more of an ADHD shoot from the hip kinda film human.
They are the filmmakers of the future if we all let this slide. How are we organizing? Where is the Tribeca boycott? Otherwise, this just slides by and gets worse.
My ‘Will Direct For Food’ from my starving artist promo photo bas been immortalized as part of my home city’s film festival in this art installation! Surreal and cool.
