Absolutely love this from the brilliant
@BukayoSaka87
. Reading his Bible everyday at the World Cup, keeping his eyes fixed on the Lord & maintaining the most amazing perspective under such pressure to perform on a football pitch
Delighted for
@AnneCalver
that
@LFC
won the
@ChampionsLeague
, but even happier to see their goalkeeper,
@Alissonbecker
, giving all the glory to Jesus. Us British Christians have a lot to learn from our South American brothers and sisters about not being ashamed of the Gospel!
This is utterly wonderful.
@Alissonbecker
helps to baptise his
@LFC
team mate Roberto Firmino. Football is wonderful but following Jesus is so much greater and more important. Hope you’re blessed by this short video
What an absolutely outstanding Gospel message from
@JustinWelby
. Whilst the world watches on the message of hope was so clear, challenging & profound. Praying it’s impacted millions. What a tribute to the Queen. Now looking forward to all the world’s leaders singing the below…
This is absolutely brilliant. The Secretary of the Atheists in Kenya Society has resigned from their position after becoming a Christian. Therefore he’s no longer able to promote atheism!
The tomb is empty because the grave could not hold Him. Death no longer has it's sting. He died that we might live, what a sacrifice. The Lord is risen, He is risen indeed. Death is beaten, Jesus is alive! Happy Easter everyone!
Delighted to have written a piece for today’s
@thetimes
on UK evangelicalism & the Trump years. Would love you to have a read. We are a good news people here to impact the UK with the Gospel. P.S. The headline should be evangelicalism not evangelism!
Absolutely delighted to share some news with you today. I am privileged to be succeeding my great friend
@stevemclifford
as the head of
@EAUKnews
. Prayers massively appreciated
As this is the first Sunday of Advent I’m putting out my favourite Christmas image. Still find it utterly breathtaking that the One who threw the stars into space became a baby for you & me. The Christmas message of Hope is simply wonderful
There will be no restrictions on communal worship, or singing, from July 19th. This is much needed after so long and is great news for churches of all types.
Monday’s funeral could be one of the greatest evangelistic moments any of us could ever know. Praying for a clear focus on the King of Kings that the Queen served, 🙏 for massive anointing on
@JustinWelby
as he ministers, 🙏 for hearts & minds all over the globe to be impacted.
Happy
#PentecostSunday
, the birthday of the church. Oh how we need a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit with all that we are facing. Lord have mercy, heal our land, revive us we pray, come Holy Spirit. Help us to be an unleashed church today ministering in words, works & wonders
I’ll be so glad when Halloween's over tomorrow. I hate the stuff connected to it & messing around with darkness is not fun & is a bad idea for society to promote. However, let’s always remember that ‘the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it’ John 1:5
Please join me in praying for
@BorisJohnson
& everyone else meeting to make some important decisions about what to do next. These continue to be incredibly challenging times & there are no easy answers. May decisions made in the days ahead be compassionate, kind, clear & brave 🙏
I may be in the minority but I'm so glad Halloween's nearly over. I really hate all the stuff connected to it & messing around with darkness is certainly not fun & is a really bad idea for our society to promote
The tomb is empty because the grave could not hold Him. Death no longer has it's sting. He died that we might live, what a sacrifice. The Lord is risen, He is risen indeed. Death is beaten, Jesus is alive! Happy Easter everyone!
I hope that the
#PARIS2024
#OlympicGames
are a great success. However, it really was appalling to see Christianity so openly mocked in the opening ceremony with the unbelievably crass portrayal of the Last Supper. Utterly insensitive, unnecessary & offensive
I've woken up with a really strong burden to pray for our land at this incredibly challenging time. I don't know what the answers are to so much of what we are facing but I do know that prayer changes things and would love you to join me in praying for the UK today
#prayfortheuk
These last two years have been so hard for everyone. However, in the last month I’ve spoken to more church leaders who are struggling, weary, & feeling fragile than at any time I can remember. Please do me a favour & pray for, & encourage, your church leader this weekend
I’ve written an open letter from
@EAUKnews
to all my fellow evangelicals. I’m desperate for us to pray & to ask the Lord for the courage and conviction for all those on Synod, that the Church of England would reaffirm it’s long-held commitment to marriage
I love this image that is doing the rounds. Politics are important but the unity of the church is far more significant than any political disagreement. We have the chance to model something different... unity in Christ in the face of political disagreement
I may be in the minority but I'm so glad Halloween's nearly over. I really hate all the stuff connected to it & messing around with darkness is certainly not fun & is a really bad idea for our society to promote
So sad to hear of the passing of a hero, friend, predecessor, mentor & encourager. Joel Edwards was an incredible leader, speaker & pioneer. He was an outstanding leader of
@EAUKnews
. The words & picture below have been released by the family. They are all in my prayers
As we approach a new decade I’m more convinced than ever that the Lord’s calling the UK church to a new form of extraordinary holiness. Salt must bring a different flavour & light a distinct brightness. We must be influencers of society not the influenced, sharing our Gospel hope
Reading
@thetimes
is a weekend essential for me & I enjoy Matthew Parris’ column. However, today’s is breathtakingly bad. It’s Easter Saturday & he writes that Jesus was weak for dying on the cross. The wonderful truth of His sacrifice in our place is the very message of Easter!
The tomb is empty because the grave could not hold Him. Death no longer has it's sting. He died that we might live, what a sacrifice. The Lord is risen, He is risen indeed. Death is beaten, Jesus is alive! Happy Easter everyone!
A huge thank you to all those techies who are working so hard to enable the church in this nation to have such a significant online presence. Whether prerecorded or live, the hours you are putting in are incredible & the rest of us are so grateful
I’m no
@ChelseaFC
fan, but
@_OlivierGiroud_
, what a legend! He must be disappointed to have lost the cup final but when it comes to the most important stuff in life he’s spot on!
It’s amazing to hear so much about the move of God taking place powerfully in
#Asbury
. A university chapel service has progressed into 11 days of non-stop meeting thus far. Delighted to hear that this is spreading to other campuses too. More Lord 🔥 🙏
I have never known a time in UK politics like the last 48hrs. Brothers & sisters please join with me today in praying for the UK in the midst of all this chaos 🙏
I’ll be so glad when Halloween's over. I hate the stuff connected to it & messing around with darkness is not fun & is a bad idea for our society to promote. However, let’s always remember that ‘the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it’ John 1:5
So very sad to hear of the passing of the most amazing monarch imaginable. The Queen has served incredibly & was also the greatest evangelist I could think of. Praying for the family, the nation & many others as we face up to this news. May she rest in peace & rise in glory
Please join me in praying for our new Prime Minister,
@RishiSunak
. Leadership is always hard & it’s difficult to imagine a more challenging time to take over as the new PM. Not sure what the next steps are, or when a GE will happen, but for now Rishi definitely needs our prayers
Very sad to hear that George Verwer has died. He was a trailblazer, a mentor to many & an evangelistic giant in his day. He will be hugely missed but his legacy will live on in the lives of so many globally. I am honoured to have known him. May he rest in peace & rise in glory

Please join me in praying for the
@churchofengland
,
@synod
& the wider church in the nation, ahead of an important few days. Praying for compassion, bravery, conviction, kindness & clarity. Grateful for many evangelicals on Synod who will be courageously speaking up
Thanking the Lord for all the incredible techies that are helping to make so many church services possible throughout the UK today. What a bunch of absolute legends serving so sacrificially & wholeheartedly. Thank you so much
As far as I understand
@GaryLineker
is a freelance journalist who works regularly for the BBC, amongst others. Whether people agree with what he said or not, him being no platformed from
@BBCMOTD
feels like another dangerous move away from the UK being a land of free speech.
Such hard news for us all to take from
@BorisJohnson
this afternoon. The numbers are certainly not good. However, Christmas is not cancelled though it will certainly be different. We can still celebrate the birth of Christ and need to do so. Keep going friends
Last week many more people engaged with a Sunday service than normal. Some churches doubled their numbers due to being pushed online. Praying this morning that this continues & that 1000s of people experience church afresh & many of them surrender their lives to Jesus. Come on!
Big reality check about the spiritual state of the nation at my sons primary school carol service. Virtually all the parents knew none of the carols or the Christmas story. Church we've a big job to do in reaching the UK with the Gospel. Let's really go for it altogether in 2019
Have been praying loads for Russia & Ukraine. So saddened to wake up to reports that the invasion seems to have begun. Please join me in praying for peace, for comfort for the fearful, for a deescalation of this conflict, lives to be spared & hope out of chaos. Lord have mercy 🙏
We’re living in such challenging times. People are responding in all sorts of ways but we believe our first response should be to fall to our knees & pray. That’s why we
@EAUKnews
are calling a UK day of prayer on Friday November 13th. Please join in & share widely
Please join me in praying for the Prime Minister
@BorisJohnson
who has tested positive for the coronavirus. Praying for a full and swift recovery and for all those who may need to lead us in his possible absence.
This feels very strange. The visit was to an amazing church that does such incredible work in it’s community and was serving this time as a vaccine centre. Can’t even begin to understand why there would be any need for
@Keir_Starmer
to apologise
18 years ago today I married the bravest, kindest & most incredible woman I’ve ever met on a day when the weather could not have been worse. Life together has been the most wonderful adventure imaginable. Happy anniversary,
@AnneCalver
, you rock my world!
We must continue to pray for Ukraine. In the midst of such pain I’m inspired by the signs of humanity across borders. In one photo Ukrainians are praying together for peace in their war torn land. The other shows Russians risking so much in their nation to protest against the war
Praying as fervently as I can this morning for our land. Might the right decisions be made and may the UK come back to Jesus in the midst of all the chaos
As the church we must pray at this crucial time for wisdom, unity in a fractured nation & for the right outcome for the least and the lost. Only the Lord can truly bring order out of chaos. I am overwhelmed with the need for us to pray for the UK at this crucial time
I’ve spent September preparing for my role as CEO of
@EAUKnews
. I’ve prayed, read, sought good advice, decorated our house, been to
@AFCWimbledon
matches, ran 100 miles, been commissioned & got myself as ready as possible. Tomorrow I start the role. Prayers massively appreciated
Great to be at the National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast. Wonderful to pray with 700 Christian leaders & parliamentarians. Great turn out from the front benches too. Enjoying listening to my friend Les Isaac speaking powerfully. Lord please do something amazing in our nation
20 years ago I married the most courageous, kind, beautiful, godly, fun & incredible woman I’ve ever met on a day when the weather was awful. It has been the most wonderful adventure imaginable. So excited about the years ahead. Happy anniversary,
@AnneCalver
, you rock my world!
So tomorrow
@BorisJohnson
returns to work after recovering from the coronavirus. Such a challenging time for him. He needs wisdom, courage, favour & grace. I hope as many people as possible will join me in praying fervently for him today as he prepares for the task ahead of him.
20 years ago today I surrendered my life to Jesus on my own in Mayow Park in South London. It's not always been easy but it's been the most amazing adventure possible. Jesus brings life and hope and changes everything!
This is absolutely wonderful. A great message from the church to the nation & just the kind of unity we
@EAUKnews
exist for. If you watch just one thing today make it this!
After a difficult week for many of us evangelicals, let’s remember that our nation needs the gospel more than ever. Together we can stay true to what we believe theologically, and go for it wholeheartedly in mission. We
@EAUKnews
are here to serve as we seek to make Jesus known
Absolutely blown away by all the Lord is doing amongst us so far here
@springharvest
. Stories from all over the site of people coming to faith for the first time, others being healed & so much more. We’re only halfway through the first of four breaks. More Lord!
#SH2019
To quote the famous sermon 'it's Friday but Sunday's coming.' It's Good Friday so let's remember death being defeated as Jesus died in our place. I'm still blown away that He did that for you and me, breathtaking and incredible!
This is truly incredible. Have been absolutely convinced that the coronavirus is the ultimate bitter/sweet moment. Utterly tragic how many lives are being lost & yet it’s the greatest evangelistic moment in my lifetime. Hope has a name & it’s name is Jesus
Praying for Princess Kate & all the Royal Family at this incredibly hard time. May she recover fully & swiftly & may the Lord be a great comfort to her, Prince William, the kids & all who know her 🙏
The tomb is empty because the grave could not hold Him. Death no longer has it's sting. He died that we might live, what a sacrifice. The Lord is risen, He is risen indeed. Death is beaten, Jesus is alive! Happy Easter everyone!

I’ve been coming to
@springharvest
for all my life & I have genuinely never experienced a week as powerful & incredible as this one. I’m so excited to get to preach on the final morning today & can’t wait for Minehead 2, Skegness & Harrogate to kick off
#Sh2019
This is utterly devastating. How horrendous that Christians were targeted in this way during Easter services. Please join me in praying for the nation of Sri Lanka, for the Christians there, for all those mourning, injured and trying to help
I’ll be so glad when Halloween's over tomorrow. I hate the stuff connected to it & messing around with darkness is not fun & is a bad idea for society to promote. However, let’s always remember that ‘the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it’ John 1:5
It’s hard to watch on as such chaos grips our country. There are many possible outcomes from here & we desperately need to find the right one. My instinctive reaction to it all is to pray for our leaders, for our land, for the broken & for greater stability. Lord have mercy 🙏
I think many churches throughout the UK are doing so well during this crisis. They’re supporting the struggling, being generous to the needy, putting effort in to keeping Sunday services running & praying for the nation. We
@EAUKnews
are here to support you & are cheering you on.
With so many people gathering at events this summer, I'm praying that this might be the year when the impact of all of these leads to an amazing move of God throughout the land. Might the gathered people then be scattered and the UK be changed for Jesus as a result. Come on!
Today is another huge day for UK politics. Regardless of our own political views I hope that many will join me in praying for Theresa May as she leaves Downing Street and for Boris Johnson as he moves in.
What a run
@England
had in
#EURO2020
. Absolutely gutted with the final but Southgate has done an amazing job. Devastated by the racist abuse directed at some of the players after missing penalties. This is vile & utterly unacceptable. All the players are absolute heroes
I love what I get to do and can’t wait to return to work tomorrow. However, at the start of this new year, and decade, this old prayer of John Wesley feels like the right commitment for me to be making. I hope some of you will join me in praying it too
19 years ago today I married the most courageous, kind, beautiful, godly, fun & incredible woman I’ve ever met on a day when the weather could not have been worse. Life together has been the most wonderful adventure imaginable. Happy anniversary,
