@begottensun @GandangaJena He's not, no one "extracts" anything from africa, pple do business they pay a license to mine and they do so, this is not theft or abuse of any kind, no one is owed anything after a company mines,pays its workers, royalties etc, aid is not a reward for the mines it's unrelated

I'm sure the spike in gold export from Sudan during the conflict and simultaneous arming of the sides from overseas is also unrelated. There is no bigger picture. They always came to help, our white saviours.

@tendaim65 @begottensun Africa was not poor. Do your homework. Also these people aren't being kind out of the goodness of their hearts. The aid money that comes in is less than the value of what they extract. And most of that money goes to paying their own staff.

@tendaim65 @begottensun Let's push the metaphor. Another term for addiction is dependency. Why is Africa dependent and who got us hooked on their product(s)? Why is the addict blamed and kept dependent instead of getting a spot in rehab and getting clean?

@ngonithetechguy @freemanchari Ok. Who's going to get up and do it? Who is going to provide Zimbabwean kids the access to tech education needed, given the decades-long decline in education? The opportunities in the local economy so they don't leave for elsewhere? At some point we need more than vibes.
