Using the JVLA, we observed 12.9 billion year old light to characterise a primordial galaxy. Even though it is faint, this source has hot dust (heated by new stars) and lots of molecular gas (fuel for future stars)! @JorisWitstok @AliConcas @nicolastro63

Did the massive, bright galaxies in the early Universe build up mass by crashing into each other in mosh pits, or by slowly aggregating mass? In a great work by @micginolfi, we found tha one of these sources was calmly rotating, hinting at a peaceful past.
