Incredibly proud to have been involved in this truly exciting discovery about a very “weird” galaxy in the distant Universe, led by good friend and colleague Alex Cameron!
Webb spotted an unusual early galaxy with gas clouds that outshine its stars. Hotter and more massive stars than we see in the local universe may be heating its dust, making it shine. Is this a transition point for galaxies, from primordial to modern?

The JADES team has found the new farthest galaxy humans have ever seen: JADES-GS-z14-0. This source, which is found at a redshift of 14.32, is so distant we're seeing it as the Universe was when it was only **290 million years old.**
