I really enjoyed my time in Garrisa. Took a road trip from Thika, through expansive Machakos, Mwingi, watched the sunset at Palm Oasis hotel. Later to Bura, Hola and back to Nairobi.
This is Garissa by night you rarely see this shared. The town is alive with traders and workers well past midnight. It’s vibrant, multicultural, and probably ten times busier than most towns in Kenya. I have seen traders from Kwale, Kisumu, and Kiambu. For those from Ukambani, it’s practically home. Does this look like just a desert with no people ? It’s time to tell factual stories about Northern Kenya.

The sight of grieving mothers & families pleading for the release of their children on the news every night —whether from state detention, forced disappearance, or abduction—points to deep structural failures in governance, justice, and social protection in Kenya. Heartbreaking!

@KerichErnest Yes. Though only last year I tilled for 3k ploughed and 4.5k unploughed land. The additional taxes on parts and engine oils and on fuel must add on to the bite.
