bummer that this is true for some people! I feel v lucky I can’t relate—reading my friends’ books is a toptier joy of my life and friends have been, more often than not, the best (deepest, smartest, most enthusiastic) readers of my own
The only thought I am going to share about blurb discourse publicly is that sometimes asking your friend to blurb your book is the only way your friends will read your book and most of your friends probably won't read your book, especially if they are writers.
