If your kid “has the ability to hit for power to all fields” or is a “special athlete”, someone else will say it.

I’m okay with hitting a ball far, and watching it for a couple steps. That’s the reward of hitting a ball that far. You don’t have to bust ass out the box and down the line.

I’ve seen beautiful swings not play, I’ve seen ugly swings play. I’ve played with HOF’ers, been coached by HOF’ers, and the 2 most important things to a hitter’s success, is GETTING ON TIME and CONFIDENCE. Strip everything else away, if they have these 2, they will find success.

I miss playing baseball every day. Often I find myself wondering why my career ended short of the big leagues and it eats at me. I found an old baseball book with this note it in to my grandpa and it reassured me, I was put on this earth to COACH. It’s in my blood. Miss you Duke.

for my 16u team. He was 76-78 touched 80 as a sophomore. I picked him up bc the arm worked and I liked him as a kid. I thought he had a chance. Very shortly after I picked him up I realized this kid was going to be special.

A lot of these new era hitting guys say “never bunt” but a little 1st n 3rd push in a 3-2 game w/ a LHP on the mound & 2nd baseman playing BEHIND the bag changes the course of that game.
Would be 3-3, Rays take momentum instead of giving it to LA. Muncy HR & makes it 4-2. GAME.
