@mikeysmith That is because they are ignorant. Thats fine and indeed something of a given. Pick up a book on the Middle East written in the last 50 years and Diego Garcia will be mentioned.

@MatthewStadlen No. Or at least not more than post war operations in Germany and East Prussia were. Hamas don't have uniformed combatants operating openly so the rules of war don't apply to them at all.

@terrychristian What he knows, and you don't, is that Ukraine doesn't have a minerals industry. He's looking for a reason to provide an agricultural nation money for advanced weapons.

@BoringDavid3 @labourlewis Its a government regulated body with price setting by the government which has borrowed from international lenders and will fail to pay them. "If it enters Special Administration, bill payers could be stuck repaying their £19bn debt." Thats a default.

No, they took place. As did the Hartlepool byelection on the same day. And Scottish elections. You may be confusing 2020 covid. So yes, we agree, cancelled for "a reorganisation". How convenient for the people in charge of the failed reorganisation that they continue to take their money and make decisions that impact others.

The intellectual foundations of MMT are really shoddy. Apparently, the reason banks go down is that they can make loans to everyone (except themselves) at will. By their own logic they cannot go bankrupt, so their logic is flawed because banks go down all the time.
@FreeportThinker @ProfHall1955 @afneil It's precisely because they create money out of thin air that they are at risk of "bank runs". The cash on hand to satisfy depositors is usually less than 3% of their assets. They make loans backed by nothing other than "faith and credit". This creates new money. Questions?

@OldCodgerLeague @FTLP_FTT If I did then the money would all have gone - which is the current issue - and I can't save in case it does happen because taxes took the money and wasted it.

@ProfHall1955 @afneil "Governments and chartered banks create money out of thin air every day." So no bank can go bankrupt. No, that is really the claim.

@supertanskiii Is there no start to this mans talents? Dow Jones is up from pretty much the time that the Democrat assassins missed and it was clear Trump was going to win against Kamala.
