In Oxford, talking w/Britons about the dismal mood of the country. One told me that there's rising sense that all is falling apart, and is unstoppably falling apart, so the best thing for the young with skills to do is leave. As something of an Anglophile, this is heartbreaking.

It’s ok.
The state shouldn’t subcontract punishment. Darrell Brooks, who drove through a crowd of revellers at Christmas purely to kill as many white people as possible, should have been given the death penalty.
